Ausiello had a very, very vague spoiler -- to the degree of "The script is very good," although that's not what was said -- for an upcoming episode of House, and it got me thinking.
Ausielllo said he heard that RSL "should start writing his Emmy speech now" for a specific future episode. If RSL couldn't even get a nomination for "Wilson's Heart," then what could be so dramatic and intense as to get him noticed by Emmy voters? Hm.
This is pure speculation, but what if, guys, what if they have RSL play Danny Wilson in an episode? O_O So many possibilities.
Please don't mention any other spoilers for episodes after 6-4 (the one from Mon 10/5 in the US) in comments.

Date: 2009-10-08 06:53 pm (UTC)It's got to be angst and tears. RSL wants "to cry every minute of every day." : )

Date: 2009-10-08 06:50 pm (UTC)Wilson and Danny could be a couple years apart. Change hairstyle and eye color, and I think RSL could pull it off.
OR they're twins but Danny was behind in school (he was in college while Wilson was in med school) due to his illness. It could be! (Probably isn't, but could be.)

Date: 2009-10-08 05:20 pm (UTC)I hope it has something to do with Danny! I wish the show would be introspective enough to have it be Wilson comparing/contrasting House and Danny via different scenes and have House meet Danny and also show Wilson dealing with his family who are being un-supportive (speculation no idea how supportive they are).

Date: 2009-10-08 06:56 pm (UTC)Ooh, that would be so wonderful. Not for the patient, obviously, but it would be amazing for us as viewers.
I would love to see more of Wilson's family. I had always pictured them as being very sweet, but when the "Ordinary People" poster showed up, that raised some questions. (Have you seen the movie? The mother is very cold and withdrawn, stuck in her own pain and unable to really parent her child.)

Date: 2009-10-08 05:20 pm (UTC)It would be really awesome to meet Wilson's bother though, I was so dissapointed with how we didn't get to meet him after The Social Contract and till the end of season 5. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this season x3
I have no idea what could top RSL's performance on Wilson's Heart though, he really should have got at least nominated in the Emmys.
But the fact that Hugh has yet to win a nomination should be clue enough of how screwed up the Emmys are :/

Date: 2009-10-08 06:59 pm (UTC)BUT to capture attention for the Supporting Actor or Actress spot, you have to either have been in television a looooong time or your character has to go way over the top. That's why I thought of playing Danny. But you're right, it probably won't happen.

Date: 2009-10-08 08:24 pm (UTC)I think Emmy voters should be required to watch the actor/actress in the current role and in a previous role, so they can see the difference. HL playing House is impressive; HL playing House contrasted with HL playing George (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_(Blackadder_character)) in Blackadder is flat-out amazing.

Date: 2009-10-09 12:01 am (UTC)Angst, on the other hand, more subtle ways of showing pain, carrying pain, all the little details we know he can do but he doesn't GET to do for more than ten seconds an episode. Well, he could kick ass with that if he were given a larger chunk of an episode in which to do it.
Or even a situation riddled with anxiety or worry. He doesnt get to do much of that either. We assume it happens a lot because of House in his life and because of his job, but we rarely see the scenes play out, do we?
Either one would be a delicious welcome for me.

Date: 2009-10-09 12:19 am (UTC)I think the obviousness of it is less admirable emmy-wise than other things.
Acting awards programs seem to me, the total outsider, to have their attention grabbed by very obvious situations/roles. Playing a healthy or happy person very well is not considered as award-worthy as playing a desperate person well, or so it seems.

Date: 2009-10-09 03:12 am (UTC)I'm one of the tiny handful of people who didn't think Wilson's Heart was all that (the opening eps of S5, on the other hand, were amazing, but that kind of thing doesn't get respect).

Date: 2009-10-10 01:57 pm (UTC)I preferred House's Head to Wilson's Heart, but you have to admit WH had the kind of angst awards-givers usually reward.

Date: 2009-10-10 02:00 pm (UTC)It would be so interesting to have RSL play both Danny & Wilson -- and given how much different RSL looks just from putting on his glasses, I think you're right that the two characters wouldn't have to be twins.
Hugh not having an Emmy yet is nutty, so unreasonable as to not be believable. I said above that if people would watch Blackadder and then watch House they would have no choice but to acknowledge how incredible his performance as House is.

Date: 2009-10-11 05:27 pm (UTC)But I may have an idea.
Maybe the the writers are going to explore more of Wilson's clinical depression. This is a very serious problem that people have and is not easily fixed. Something to do with anti-depressants, maybe detest for taking them? Wilson could stop taking them suddenly and go through those nasty withdrawal symptoms. It'll be treat for the fans who want sick!Wilson. *looks guilty*
Acknowledging the LLB arc would be nice. I want to know more about Danny. How come Wilson is the one picking up the pieces? I've read a lot of fanfiction about Wilson's parents being nice and pleasant folks, but wouldn't it be a twist if he had a horrible childhood or was mistreated badly as a child? Perhaps neglected because of Danny's needs instead? Or being forced to grow up fast to help take care of Danny?
Also, KJ said (even though I can't believe a damn thing that woman says) that Wilson is going through his own problems because of his dying cancer patients. His messiah complex and desire to be needed could be putting a strain on him, mentally, emotionally and physically.
Buuuuut...ya know. Actors and actresses have won awards for, ya know...playing gay characters. Perhaps our great Hilson moment is arriving at last!
Or maybe I need to get some sleep and quit obsessing. XD
