I've realized (belatedly, no doubt) that this is a transition time for my relationship with House fandom. It'll be interesting to see what comes up next.

Even in my experience so far (and I've only been in fandom for about a year and a half) I've noticed a sort of climate change. I feel like some of the 'ship' comms have gotten slightly...insane, and I can't even go to those places anymore without wanting to rip my hair out. It seems like there's less maturity going around in general (even in the general media when it comes to House, reporting on nothing except who's sleeping with who, who's about to sleep with who, who should sleep with who, when who's going to sleep with who, etc., but this might always been the hot topics for that kind of thing, since I don't know, because I didn't really keep up with that until this past season, or notice it). I just feel such a sense of division and immaturity in fandom lately, and I've really kept to the fringes. I haven't really had to deal with older fandom people moving on, because I really haven't been involved for that long. I bet it's weird to realize others have moved on.

I don't know if your enormous neverending sentence meant that you're having trouble writing, but...I know I am. When I feel discouraged with the show itself I find it harder to write, even if what I'm writing really has nothing to do with what's happening on the show. That must have been one hell of a sentence, though.

general media when it comes to House, reporting on nothing except who's sleeping with who -- Ausiello getting the larger platform of Entertainment Weekly had something to do with this, I think. He has been obsessed with House having sex since moment one and asks about it at every opportunity. *rolls eyes*

I've never been on any shipping comms other than House_Wilson, and the change there is what has unsettled me the most. There have always been different perspectives on Wilson and House, but now it seems like a large contingent actually hate one of the people involved in the 'ship. How is that shipping?
