I've realized (belatedly, no doubt) that this is a transition time for my relationship with House fandom. It'll be interesting to see what comes up next.

I wrote a sentence last night with 64 words and no commas. Heh.

Why, though? What did I miss (if I'm not out of line in asking)??

Also - that must be quite an interesting sentence!

I've been feeling detached from fandom for awhile, like I still love Wilson and H/W as much as I ever did but...IDK. Fandom has been such a creative outlet though, and such a comfort, that it scares me to lose it and the friends I've made through it. I mean I knew all along that would happen, but....

I mean, I love a LOT of people in this fandom for much more than just the fandom stuff, but I know it doesn't work both ways. (I trusted it did with you, I was just trying to be cute...........Image)

Ah well sorry. I'll plug up my worry-hole so no further nonsense spills out. Image

I second [livejournal.com profile] hibernia1's question. What brought this on? Have you had problems with the house fandom? I'll kick some virtual butt on your behalf if you need me too!!

Nothing in particular happened. I was just looking at some old posts, and remembering some old friends who have left the fandom.

The sentence is not actually very interesting... but it's designed not to be interesting! : )

Don't worry! : ) I've just been thinking about some fun comms that have dried up, and some fandom friends who have moved on. Nothing new -- I'm just slow to catch on to thing slike this, sometimes. *hugs*

House and Wilson are my favourite OTP ever! But I too have jumped fandoms (the Bat-verse suits my penchant for incredible angst, hot guys, male bonding, and strong female characters too).

But I will always read whatever you write :D

As long as you don't leave this fandom (don't, OK!), it's fine to feel a little nostalgia sometimes.

I saw your reply to hibernia above. I guess real life takes over for some people. I never thought about it but I guess there are a lot of old fandoms of shows no longer on the air that have been abandoned.
It is sad.
Though I did find a Starsky and Hutch fandom that seems to be going strong.
Yeah, I'm that old!!! :)

Oh, I'm glad... You had me worried there for a while. Please don't leave the House Fandom, too! It wouldn't be the same without you. And also, Wilson needs someone always on his side! We complement each other nicely!

*hugs*

I deeply hope you will not leave, though. The place would never be the same without you.

I had a similar feeling about my church. I'd gone there since I was 18 and then after I was married and had kids. About 5 years ago, a lot of the families that I'd known for years, started leaving the state, in search of cheaper housing. So many people had left that the church had to shut down, due to lack of funds.

Sounds like one doozy of a sentence.

The transition feeling's a strange one, and it's never easy to figure out until you're into it. But it can be good, sometimes, to get a new perspective.

I've never been as thoroughly immersed in the fandom as you are, I know. So the changes aren't affecting me as much, but I still sense them. People who were writing a lot aren't now, and a lot of the newcomers are ... *ahem*. I'll be nice, but the demographics do seem to have shifted.

I'm hoping that something will happen to revitalize things, but in the event that these changes are permanent, I'm still not ready to let go. There will always be a few of us.

And when it eventually does fade away or transition elsewhere, I hope that those of us who are close friends will find a way of remaining so. There are a handful of people (you're one) I can't imagine losing just because a TV show ends its run.

Ah, fandom migration! Hard to believe House has been my longest fandom yet, but I've been through several transitions. (*is an oldbie*: WHY I STILL REMEMBER THE DAYS OF THE X-FILES. Nobody teal deered like an X-Phile! And you think you know ship wars? I was in Buffy fandom and we had ship wars!) House is still my thing--and getting better all the time (the secret is to change who you like depending on who the writers like)--but I know there'll come a day when I'm ready for something new. And that day I shall keep all my friend-friends (still have some from Buffy on my flist), and my fandom-friends shall say, "You're leaving? CRAZY PERSON." And we shall drift. For lo, that is the Way of Fandom.

What Queenzulu said. Your friends will stick with you.

And, like you, I sometimes miss the way things were when you and I first started. I think getting involved in lots of fandoms helped me not to feel as sad about it. Still kinda sad, tho'...

I remember having house_wilson on my flist and just gobbling up everything that popped up there. And constantly having H/W in my head. Those were good times. ;)
