A ha! Realizations about my reaction to tonight's episode :

- How the hell was that a "devious" way to win back Wilson? House didn't do anything to win back Wilson. And there was no planning.

- Why is Lucas going to be "hot on Wilson's trail" next episode, if Wilson made the decision to come back this episode?

- The lie about Amber buying Wilson that keychain was entirely stupid because the sympathy card does not work with House. Wilson knows this. Reflexive guilt-trip lying?

- Why was House arrested? He didn't do anything wrong.

- The assumption Wilson made that House bailed him out because House "cared" is not necessarily true. It's entirely possible House just found a guy who carried around an envelope but wouldn't open it interestingly repressed. It could've been pure boredom that led House to bail him out. Why would Wilson think it better if House cared about a total stranger than if House found a total stranger interesting? It's everything after that that counts.

- And "everything after that" was the reason Wilson gave for leaving, but he said he's coming back because House is fun. So... nothing's changed? House can continue to act the way he's always acted, and it's OK by Wilson? ETA: And Wilson's going to keep on lying and trying to manipulate House instead of being straightforward about his own needs, and that's OK too?

- No flashbacks! Curse you, Washington Post, for saying there would be.

- We ain't never getting a hug. Wilson's pat on House's shoulder, and House's looming over Wilson's are going to be as close as we get. D:<

- Wilson was gorgeous this ep. He looked like a wee puppy when he was trying to talk the cop into letting him go.

I think I need to watch it again.

PS. Hee, hee. Bizarre little thing I predicted in a fanfic: Wilson's trunk o' preparedness!

Isn't "right out of medical school" first year of residency? So you predicted perfectly. (Is it common to send first-year residents to multi-specialty conferences (because I doubt House was at an oncology conference) with 3000 people?)

Which Lexington do you think they're in?

Lexington, Kentucky, the largest 'Lexington'
Lexington, Massachusetts, the oldest 'Lexington'
Lexington, Alabama
Lexington, Georgia
Lexington, Illinois
Lexington, Indiana
Lexington, Michigan
Lexington, Minnesota
Lexington, Mississippi
Lexington, Missouri
Lexington, Nebraska
Lexington, New York
Lexington, North Carolina
Lexington, Ohio
Lexington, Oklahoma
Lexington, Oregon
Lexington, South Carolina
Lexington, Tennessee
Lexington, Texas
Lexington, Virginia

Lexington Kentucky is certainly makes sense. It's about 680 miles from Jersey to Kentucky. But maybe Virginia?

I vote for Lexington, Virginia. That was my first thought when Cuddy said "Lexington." It's very quiet and beautiful there, the weather is mild, and it would be a lovely place to retire. Also, VMI is right in that town, and I can imagine John wanting to be near a military "presence" in his retirement. Perhaps he even taught at VMI.

It would be a 6-hour drive from Princeton to Lexington, Virginia. Long enough distance to fly, short enough distance to deal with driving.

Well, one could argue that an internship comes between med school and residency (or that an internship is the final part of med school, so ....)

And I figure it's Lexington, Ky., because 1) big enough for an airport, but close enough for a long drive and 2) House's reference to seeing a cross burning on the lawn.

Internship is not part of medical school; internship is just the first year of residency. And the term "internship" is falling out of favor; they're tending now to just call it all "residency."

One could see a cross burning on a lawn in Virginia; it's no less southern than Kentucky, really. And I think 10 hours is a bit long for a road trip to a funeral, but I get that YMV.
