House: "My grandson got me a mug that says that."

Where did that come from? I'm assuming it's a joke, but I don't get it. "My love child got me a mug..." or "My bastard kid got me a mug..." would make sense, but "My grandson..." I don't get.

The episode overall: Loved it. Yes, Amber's death was idealized but eh, a lot on this show is. RSL was wonderful this ep, as was Anne Dudek and HL (but of course).

Now just waiting for [livejournal.com profile] stephbass to tell me about the cool and/or annoying director things. : )

I took House's line to be one of his ways of rubbing a little salt in the wound while making a point. If Thirteen does not take the Huntington's test, she'll never know and she'll never have children, and thus grandchildren, because of the uncertainty. Whereas if she does take the test, she can actually make the decision instead of living her life avoiding it.
