It Was a Very Good Year

One year ago today I posted my first Housefic: That Time Cameron Had Mono (House/Wilson, NC-17). Thought I'd look back and share some fun facts.
Let me start with the hugest of thanks to
daisylily, my beta soulmate and an all-around awesome person, without whom this would have been a much more difficult year. Thanks also to Early Readers on my f-list who’ve provided valuable concrit and suggestions.
Year in Review
I wrote 72 pieces (fics, ficlets, drabbles, and drabble collections) for a total of 216,449 words. My fic list is here.
Considering the average novel is 80,000 to 120,000 words, that's two novels' worth. No wonder I'm tired.

Of these, 3 pieces totaling 7,961 words were co-written (Tension and Release with
rivers_bend, Egoiste for Men with
julorean, and Arureos with
nightdog_barks).

In addition to the 72 above, I also wrote (solo) 16 MSTs and two CAPSLOCK fics – those were a riot to create.
Content/Genre
The vast majority of pieces were House/Wilson or House-Wilson friendship, but I also wrote other slash, femslash, het, and gen. Pairings included Foreman/Chase; Julie/OFC; Wilson with Cuddy, Tritter, Chase, Cameron, OC, McKay, and Sheppard (not all at once!); House/Snape; and a House/Cameron fic in which he and Cameron got married, had a kid, and, ignoring the epilogue, stayed happily married.
Genres covered included domestic, fluff, angst, hurt/comfort, crack, AU, humor, violence, friendship, first-time, ep-tag, PWP.

I married House and Wilson off to each other seven times (counting commitment and civil union ceremonies and one fake wedding) and gave them four kids (Jack, unnamed baby girl, and Jacob & Michelle). They also divorced once.
I killed House, Wilson, Blythe, and Hugh Laurie.
Kinks covered included: public and semi-public sex (10 fics!), voyeurism, exhibitionism, sex toys, pearl necklace, furry-love, and violence.

27 drabbles/ficlets under 1000 words; 33 fics 1000-5000 words; and 12 fics over 5000 words.
Shortest: 100 words, twice: Chase/Foreman drabble, House/Snape drabble
Longest: 25,863 words, My Fathers' Son; followed by Keeper parts 1-6 at 15,042 and Locked Up and Set Free at 13,830
Rating
House MD doesn't quite lend itself to G-rated fics, but I managed a few:
5,576 words - G
74.028 words - PG
40,632 words - PG-13
61,043 words - R
35,170 words - NC-17
Universes
I created three "universes" with multiple fics/ficlets each: MFS or Jack-verse (based on My Fathers' Son; 52,400 words and counting), Mono-verse (based on That Time Cameron Had Mono; 18,600 words); and Pillory-verse (based on Pillory, 4500 words with more planned).
With the authors' gracious permission, I jumped into other people's fic universes four times:

Near the end of the year, I started getting into Stargate Atlantis and wrote two crossover pieces with that universe, an untitled Clinic fic, and Out of the Blue, an NC-17 foursome fic that was intended to be a PWP but McKay and House would not shut up.
POV
Dialogue only (or mostly dialogue only) was a favorite: 10 pieces, 14,335 words.
Wilson and House had about an equal say during the year, but their son’s a talky one too:
Wilson POV only fics - 44,091 words
House POV only fics - 44,049 words
Wilson POV only fics - 44,091 words
House POV only fics - 44,049 words
Jack POV - 40,905 in just two fics (one of which is incomplete!)
Looking back, I was surprised to find that Cameron had POV in 8 fics, including 3 fics (7,769 words) where she was the only one narrating. Where did that come from?
I've also written from the POV of: Chase, Foreman, Stacy, Cuddy (for exactly 100 words), Tritter, Julie, Dry-cleaner, Tax Accountant, Bus Stop Guy, Wilson’s mom, Steve McQueen (and his friend Tuco), John Sheppard from Stargate Atlantis, RSL, Jo Green, and OCs, as well as one fun jaunt into true omniscient.
