The way my mind works
Aug. 18th, 2012 05:28 pmHeadline in the Washington Post read, "Romney will take respect over love," and my first thought was...
Say it with me:
With Wilson, you get both!
Except, my fanon is that Wilson always votes for the candidate with the hottest wife so it'd be Obama who'd get both. Sorry, Mitt.

In Italy we vote on a Sunday, and I've only ever seen queues on extremely sunny days, when everyone goes to the beach and they all try and go after dinner. Also, so long as you make it before deadline you're allowed to vote (been there, done that, was home around eleven pm).

Date: 2012-08-19 09:15 pm (UTC)In 2008, I went early in the morning because I wanted to vote before work (I work more than 30 minutes away from my home, so I couldn't go during the middle of the day), and I waited probably 45 minutes. And got really bored, and started thinking about how annoyed House would be to have to wait. A friend of mine who went to the same voting place an hour later waited about 15 minutes; another friend who went in the middle of the day didn't wait at all.
And, yes, if you're in the line at the polling place's closing time, they will let you vote.
You can also mail in your ballot early, under the rules set by the state where you're registered.
