I was away -- mostly -- and now I'm back -- kind of.

Specificity, I doesn't have it.

I will probably be shuffling over to Dreamwidth, with cross-posting back to LJ. But that may be a while.

Fics will stay open here on LJ, and eventually will all get put on Archive of Our Own as well.

Please don't cross-post comments on my locked posts to Twitter or Facebook. If you want to cross-post comments on open posts, that's fine. Keep in mind, though, if you have your boss or your mother friended on Facebook, and they get curious as to who this "Dee Laundry" is and follow your comment back to my LJ, they're gonna find porn. Up to you whether that would bother you or not.

Mmm hm. Most of us keep our LJs as separate as we can from our actual identities.

That's precisely why we're so pissed off. Facebook is known for telling the whole world who you are and where you are, without your consent or even your knowledge, and then refusing to help you if their actions cause serious problems, even grave physical danger, to you.

Combine FB's "not our problem" attitude with LJ's utter lack of respect or concern for their users and you have a recipe for disaster.

I'm getting out while this thing's still only half-baked.

Hey Dee, I get you. I've deleted all my LJ entries (thanks to a great downloadable program that allows you to make changes in bulk) and set up on Dreamwidth. Like you, I was freaked at the idea of my real life and online life crossing.

I'm not freaked out, because I don't have any offline info on Twitter or Facebook. And not really too much of it on LJ. But I do think Dreamwidth has a more fannish sensibility, and ultimately I'd probably be happier there.
