Figured out how to articulate what I disliked about The Six Thatchers: too much John as an idea rather than a person. John himself protested it with the red balloon, but it was all throughout the episode.

I want to see speculation on the code names. "Only those within this room, code names Antarctica, Langdale, Porlock and Love, will ever know the whole truth." (Read more at: http://transcripts.foreverdreaming.org/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=30376)

Love was Lady Smallwood, and Antarctica is probably Mycroft. So what do "Langdale" and "Porlock" mean, and which one is Sherlock?

I've found Porlock on Wikipedia: "Person from Porlock", "Man from Porlock", or just "Porlock" are literary allusions to unwanted intruders who disrupt inspired creativity.

What about Langdale?

Oh, oops, I've done what Ms. Norbury would've hated: forgot there were five people in the room. Maybe none of them are Sherlock (who is not employed by the British government); maybe one of them is Ms. Norbury.

Completely different topic: What the hell are they going to do with the baby? It can't get back to Sherlock & John solving crimes if there's a baby.

I've been wondering about the baby too. TV rules say they can't kill the baby. Maybe Molly will adopt it.
The character portrayals were very much like House and Wilson, weren't they? Sherlock getting away with stuff and being a jerk just because he can, only for it to turn out badly for someone else. John as this idea of a person instead of a real person, putting up with it for no good reason.

I hadn't even thought of that!! Another man could come along and claim the baby, but John has bonded with her now so it would still seem like way too much on top of Mary dying.

not a Sherlock fan but I've seen babies ruin some TV shows I liked. The whole show starts revolving around the baby and/or the baby makes formerly smart characters begin to behave like idiots.

Yeah, I agree. And the writers of Sherlock are experienced TV writers I am hoping that they have something specific in mind.

In Sherlock, I think you would have liked Sherlock's response to the baby. He treated her pretty much exactly like he treats everyone else :)

I was wondering about the baby too! I thought the episode was really good, but I do wish it would just get back to John and Sherlock.

Either the baby will have to hang around with them -which will be annoying as everything will revolve around the baby, not the case. Or they will just leave the baby with some random babysitter so they can concentrate on the story. But that will also annoy me as I will be like, where's the bloody kid while Johns off gallivanting with Sherlock!?!

Amanda Abbington was interviewed and said, in essence, that Mary had to go so that it could get back to being John & Sherlock. But if the next two episodes are all about the rift and if there's still the baby, then how does that equal John & Sherlock? Something is off here.

My crack theory is that the whole of the show will be revealed to be 'mind palace' -- that actually Benedict is a writer plotting out his stories and he's now written himself into a corner. :)

I have to admit, the whole John and Sherlock aren't friends after John's wife dies cause John kinda blames Sherlock is giving me major H/W (post Amber arc) feels!
