Jack Wilson has some awesome baby furniture and bedding in his room, just waiting for him!

Babi Italia Pinehurst Lifestyle Crib, Armoire, and Combo (in Tea Stain) (found here)

The wall color is a very, very pale blue (with the name of either "Crystal Ice" or "Arctic Sea").

Room Decor from the "Z Is For Zebra" collection at Pottery Barn Kids (here)

Sleigh Glider, Ottoman, and Side Table (but in honey) with cute zebra sham pillow:

Evan Chenille Braided Rug:

Z is for Zebra art:

Zebra mobile:

Zebra stroller blanket:

Also the zebra crib skirt but NOT the bumpers (unsafe, sniff) and NOT the sheet (NOT top rated for safety, sniff)

PS. Bonus Points if you guess why Wilson picked that design scheme for Jack's bedroom.

He picked it because it's less important to listen for horses than for zebras.

Something about looking for the zebra in the herd of horses? What House does?

Yep! *grins* Also, because the patterns were cute but not so "cutesy" as to make him gag every time he walked in the room. And the color went well with the wall paint he finally picked out, which was an extremely pale blue.

YAY!

Hee.

OH! Something I was going to ask you -- was Jack bar mitzvahed? I simply can't remember anything any more. :-(

Yes, he was. Some of the party afterward is at the beginning (http://deelaundry.livejournal.com/7782.html) of Part Three.

My guess is, it has something to do with the harmonious coexistence of opposites. Black and white, House and Wilson, that sort of thing. :-)

Oooh, that's a good guess! By softening it in most cases to a pastel blue and white zebra, the scheme also reinforces the idea that things may not be as different as you might anticipate. : ) Plus, there's the added bonus of House's job being to find the "zebras" out of the "horses."

Waa it's so adorable :D I love it! :)

My best friend's sister actually picked this theme for her nursery :)

Does this mean you're thinking of writing more in this series? :)

At least one more in this series. I'm aiming to have a ficlet/fic ready for next weekend-ish.

This theme is so cute. :D I saw it in the store and loved it. :D

It's very cute, serene and all that but for the life of me I can't think of a specific reason why Wilson chose that particular decor. Tell us pretty please!! And I'm stoked to read in your reply to comment above that there'll be a story coming up in this verse!

Wilson picked zebras because of House being a diagnostician. As Foreman said in the first episode, "First year of medical school: If you hear hoofbeats, you think horses, not zebras." (Horses = common diagnosis; zebra = rarer diagnosis.) To which House replied, "Are you in first year of medical school?" Other doctors treat the "horses"; House's job (life!) is about finding and diagnosing the "zebras."

:D

I will do my best for at least a ficlet, next weekend or the beginning of the week after. *hugs*

OK, I'm a little sneaky. I remembered the zebra/horse analogy, because I've seen it used several times, and then I googled to figure out which episode of House it was brought up in. :D

I didn't think of the 'obvious' zebra thing because I was too busy trying to think of some really obscure reference XD

I love the quilt best, but I also like the mobile (although the beta in me feels constrained to point out that - generally speaking - zebra don't have either checks or spots...)

Edit: Dangit, I actually picked my lolly icon TYVM LJ D:< but otoh the animal theme is there so I'll leave Daisy there XD

I actually love the rug best, and how funny that Pottery Barn named it "Evan." :D

(I love your icon of Daisy!)

before they called the show "House" they were going to call it "Hunting Zebras" but I'm guessing you knew that.

No, I didn't know that. Awesome! ♥ I remembered that they used the analogy in one of the eps, but didn't know they'd thought about calling the show that.

I think "House MD" is a better name. : )
