Related to Fic While Not Actually Being Fic

In the "re-write of canon with Wilson as a woman" fic that I'm never going to write, I've decided Wilson's first name is Mary. House generally calls her Wilson, but when he's feeling particularly grumpy/vicious toward her, he calls her Maggie.

I haven't forgotten about the several fics I still owe for the RSL and HL Birthday Drives, I swear. It's just been a fallow period for writing lately, which you may have noticed. Last fic/ficlet put up: June 11. Last fic over 1000 words: May 10. Last fic over 2000 words: April 4. : ( I did manage to finish Remix, and that will go up (anonymously) this Sunday. But that's it. Ah well.

A drabble can say a lot, of course -- it's just that I generally have had a balance of longer pieces and shorter and lately it's been like pulling teeth most of the time. Oh well.

I like it because it's as common and unremarkable as "James" is, a "fit in the crowd" kind of name. House being able to fling the Mary Magdalene insult is a side bonus, too (writing-wise, I mean).

Mary does seem quite suitable, doesn't it? Until I started responding to comments, I'd forgotten that that was the name of Jack's girlfriend/fiancee/wife, as well. Heh. They say a boy deep-down wants a girl like his "mother." :D

Thank you for that. Mr. L is out of town starting on Tuesday so maybe I'll buckle down and write then. Your fic should be among the easier for me to write, because Li'l Bastard Jimmy is so much fun. :D

Ugh, I hear you about those slow months when the words are being stubborn. On the upside, they always eventually pass!

I'm the same way with the bday fics. Soon's I'm done my ficathon obligations, though, that's what I'm going to turn my attention to, I hope.

Femslash's the last ficathon. Then I'm doing one other small fannish project. I already have at least one of my bday fics plotbunnied, so hopefully that one will see the light of day soonish.

Oh Dee, you are not alone. I've had quite a self loath-y week and tonight it is particularly bad. As it is, I'm sitting here drinking wine a learning how to play "Creep" on the ukulele. Perfect song for a sucky mood.

Too early for bed! Although you must be tired what with the kids and all that. I've just been stuck in my apartment reading Greek all day.
