I don't know if I want to do it! I am thinking I could maybe do one fandom-y challenge this summer, as a way of keeping myself sane in the midst of all the other big changes/projects I'm doing this summer, so--Remix? McShep Match?

I'm thinking about it this year, but I only really write gen, and I only really write Wilson, and the userinfo is gently dissuasive in situations like that. And I'd hate to disappoint whoever got me if I can't do their characters justice. And I'm making a lot of excuses :)

You only write gen, but you read slash and het, so that should be fine. You focus on Wilson, but your characterization of House and Cuddy is consistently excellent. You've also written Taub POV for the most recent Burns Day fic, and I adored that.

If you got, say, a House/Cameron-only writer and didn't think you could write Cameron POV, you could always write Wilson's take on the events in the story, because as House's best friend he'd be likely to get all the scoop. As long as you're respectful of the characters -- which you always are -- that could be very interesting for the author.

And I would say all this even if I wasn't squeeing my heart out that you might get matched to me. :D

You'd qualify for House fandom, but you don't need to write in House at all. If you find a story you want to remix in another fandom, say Torchwood, you can do it. Or if the writer has a lot of drabbles--those may be easiest. I've remixed a full-length story, a ficlet and a drabble.

If there are pairings, you do need to keep the pairing, but you can change it to gen.

You're likely to get matched with someone who has House/Wilson fics, but not certain, so... yeah.

I would love to have you remix another fic of mine, if you ever get the urge! You could also post an offer on your LJ, to see if others were interested in having you remix a fic of theirs -- could tell them you'd pick one person at random.

I just searched for house_remix and there's a comm there, which is (newly) 'under construction', so it looks as though there might be a chance of choosing one pairing/doing gen-only/whatever might be possible.

Also, it appears that there isn't a minimum number of fics that you have to have written for entry (I may be wrong, I just skimmed, plus they haven't finished getting started yet) so that would be good for people like me who don't write that much.

Yes, my safe story is the same. I kept it safe because, embarrassingly, that's the one I can most easily see the show actually using. Not that the show ever would but I like to keep the (impossible) possibility open.

*g* I think Gen fen are definitely put off by the 'you might get a PWP' thing - it's fine if you're a wide reader, but if you're not? *shrugs* Given my fandoms, I'd probably end up with something I couldn't work with (Sheppard/McKay, Jack/Ianto), so pinch-hitting is nice and safe and if I'm still up to my elbows in Big Bangs, I haven't over-committed myself!
