Writing Round-up for April (plus a little)
May. 5th, 2009 09:21 pmI don't normally do a monthly round-up, but the past month-ish there were several small pieces. These are all ficlets of under 1000 words, unless marked, with no spoilers, unless marked. (I also wrote a tiny Taub piece, but ugh. It was terrible. Sorry about that,
shutterbug_12.)
Earthworms and Buttercream Roses, PG-13, House-Wilson friendship, 1311 words. No spoilers past Season Four, even though this is set in mid-season Five. I'll confess now that I wrote this banter-heavy tale as a present for fans who think Wilson needs to learn some things and do some making up to House. My favorite comment on the story came from
mer_duff who led with, "Oh Wilson, you bossy bunny." Hee.
Work by Night, PG, House-Wilson friendship, House-Chase friendship, 3004 words. Wilson has a stroke, and nothing is quite the same. House's POV, warning for "off screen" major character death due to illness. Sad but ultimately hopeful.
Those Three Little Words, PG, House/Wilson, written for
cryptictac. House has a strong reaction to hearing Wilson say, "I love you."
Belts, Benches, and Weights, PG, House/Wilson slash. I wanted to write PG-rated erotica, in "honor" of Amazon coding thousands of gay-themed books Adult, even though they had no erotic or "adult" content.
Comes a Day, PG-13, future fic, House/Wilson (although there's nothing slashier than lying in a bed together), written for
phinnia. Dedicated to anyone who struggles with the idea of unconditional love. No one needs a lump, House thinks.
School Assignment, G, midquel for "My Fathers' Son." Jack Wilson, age six, completes a language arts assignment.
Relict, PG, sequel to "My Fathers' Son," written for
photoash. Wilson goes on a date.
Dylan Muses on Family, PG, House/Foreman kidfic, in
queenzulu's "No Such Thing" 'verse, written for her. House and Foreman's son Dylan thinks about his dad-dads.
House in Menopause, PG, gen. A very short scene written in 2006 for a 'verse Djinn was planning to write, in which all the characters on House were born the opposite gender from canon.
Not Near Enough, PG, House/Wilson, in
hannahrorlove's imbued-superpowers 'verse, written for her. Wilson can fly, so very high up in the sky, and even though House can read minds, it doesn't mean he knows everything.
Stargate Atlantis drabble, Any Afternoon, PG, McKay/Sheppard, written for
jdr1184 and posted to
mcsmooch
