School Assignment completed by Jack Wilson, age 6
(idea prompted by [personal profile] nightdog_barks  and [personal profile] mer_duff )

J is for James. That's my Pop's name but most people call him Wilson.

A is for alimoney that's money you pay when you don't want to be married any more. I don't have to pay alimoney because I never got married. I can't think of any other A.

C is for camoflage and aslo camelion. Camelions are cool. My Pop's friend House says Pop is like a camelion, always changing color to fit the crowd. But mostly he wears white and brown and blue. Sometimes green. He doesn't wear camoflage and won't let me wear it because it's the army color but I like it.

K is for knowlege. It sounds like N but it's really K. My Pop's friend House says knowlege is really important and I think so too. I like knowing things, it's fun. Some knolege are facts that everybody knows and some knowlege are secrets. Secrets are important to share with your family and no one else. But that's not my favorite knowlege, my favorite knowlege is facts everybody knows that are clear. We can talk about those any time we like even nauty facts like girl parts.

I assume House or Wilson checked this for spelling and then asked Jack to change the J.

Jack wrote it in school, so Wilson didn't get to see it until Parents' Night. What do you think Jack had before for the J?

Having reread the sections and paid more attention the second time around to some of the wording, I feel the need for an "embarrassment" icon right about now. This'll have to do.

Hee! Jack's teacher did quiz him a little bit on the "secrets" part (to which he replied, "Oh like birthday parties and presents"), but Wilson didn't end up seeing the assignment until a few weeks later at Parents' Night. Hee.

Can't tell you how much I loved this. I like Wilson the "camelion" the best.

Oh, Jack. Knowledge divided into facts and secrets.

He doesn't wear camoflage and won't let me wear it because it's the army color but I like it.

Hee.

Yeah, Jack.

He doesn't really like guns or war games (although he goes along with his friends when they want to play something similar), but he is fascinated by camouflage. (Animal camouflage, too.)

So sweet - and so Jack. He's very much his fathers' son What other six-year-old would think of alimony for A first! And love facts that are clear. (And of course nauty facts about girl parts)

Wilson must have been balancing his checkbook some time in the few days before Jack's school assignment came up, for "alimoney" to be so fresh in Jack's mind.

Jack adores facts that are clear. They feel so sunshine-y and pleasant.

Awwww... this is sweet, and perfectly in line with every 6 year old I've known. :-) Got a real chuckle out of A is for alimoney .

Re "knowlege": Would a 6-year-old know how to spell "know"? Just asking--I thought the "knolege" that you use was closer to that age.

Thanks. Good point about "knowlege" -- I left the "w" in because one of Jack's characteristics is being a word buff. He likes to know things, so he took special pains to memorize the spelling of "know"; and he knows that "know" and "knowledge" are related, so he spells the beginning part of "knowledge" correctly almost every time. And then forgets the "d" in the latter half.

He's embarrassed by the misspellings in the assignment, but explained to Pop that it was in-class "free writing" and the teacher wouldn't let him get up to use the dictionary.

AHHH it's so so adorable. I think 'C' was my favorite, especially love him being confused by 'Pop's friend House' saying that Pop changes color but he really only wears like khaki and such. Such an astute little guy <3 'Aslo,' it's awesome that he likes clear facts better than secrets, poor guy. Can't imagine being six and having to remember to call your dad a 'friend.' Just perfect all around <3

And just to add insult to injury, "My Pop's friend House" is 17 letters long vs. "Dad" being only 3. Tiring!

: ) Thanks. <3

Aw, thanks. [livejournal.com profile] mer_duff wrote a great fic called The A-Z of House (http://mer-duff.livejournal.com/1441.html), which [livejournal.com profile] nightdog_barks brought up again recently, and that sparkied this idea.

Oh my lord, this is adorable - and tinged with a little sadness in the K, that Jack's favourite knowledge is not the sort of knowledge you share with everybody...

Wow. Thanks so much for sharing!!

Thank you! I love that icon so much.

Last night I went and searched for some pics that I could try to use as Jack. I think this might be a toddler one for him.

It's hard finding the perfect kiddie, isn't it? I was lucky enough to have La Petite Kiki solve that problem for me in my Benjamin-verse (*points at icon*) but I'm still plowing through the interwebs to find pictures of Ben as a child and a teenager... And it's never quite right *pouts*

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

This is such fun!

I can think of another A that Jack could have had, but I'm guessing if you're six and try writing A is for asshole you might get in trouble >:D

Edit because doing several things at once may not be recommended...
