Have you been to the "memorial" website? www.fox.com/kutner There are "letters" from the other characters, and Wilson's letter, which confirms his horrible handwriting, mentions that Kutner wrote short stories -- and let Wilson read them.

Battlestar Galactica fanfic, Y/Y?

(And as Wilson read, he pictured the characters from the old series, Y/Y?)

Letter from Wilson in which ... OMG they're fanficcing their own show!

And you know, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Kutner wrote BSG fanfic. :-) And I bet he was good at it, too.

I did an "MST" a long time back in which Wilson admitted that he writes old-series BSG fanfic. Hee hee hee.

You should go see the letters; they're really... odd.

Kutner was writing fanfic of his favorite scifi show :D but Wilson hadn't watched it so didn't realize it was fanfic and just enjoyed it <3

Could be! Although the old Battlestar Galactica was really popular when Wilson was young so maybe he saw it... :D

Of course. And if you look in Wilson's closet you will see a brown suede bomber jacket that he bought because he secretly always wanted to look like an Old School colonial warrior. But he never wears it because he knows that House will make the connection.

*is proudly Old School too*

Of course! Wilson gets some of the Star Wars stories -- the ones dealing with Episode IV and Episode V (the only scene he's seen from VI is the one with Leia in the gold bikini) -- but is lost when Kutner veers off into Episode I-III territory.

Also, Wilson is a Draco/Neville shipper, I think.

My very first conscious fanfic was about Battlestar Galactica.

I liked Wilson's letter. Weird.

Everybody else - I don't think 13 is quite as flowery as she was written to be. And the Cuddy note was sad.

I liked it, too; just thought it was very odd. Why would Kutner share his stories with Wilson? Were they closer than the show has shown?

The Cuddy note was sad, and the Chase note was a little bit harsh, I thought.

It was kind of awesome that Cuddy understood that it's okay to be sad. She's internalised her role as a hospitasl administrator - it's not just money and techinicalities, that you honestly care about your staff. And she's at the front, low cut top and all, genuinely expressing her sadness. And in that note too...

She was such an awesome character this week. And it was Cuddy too, not the giggly/girly thing Lisa Edelstein sometimes lets her get into (and with the kind of material she had to work with this season, no wonder).

Chase's note was harsh, true. But then again, Kutner probably won't read it. Chase has gotten very practical.

It's ridiculous how awesome a character Kutner was. Costwise, it's almost humane to let go of the character who has the best career prospectus besides Hugh Laurie... but still. The show just keeps losing its quirkiness. Now that House has descended into complete misery, it was Kutner and Taub that kept the laughs going.

The DDXs are going to be a freaking nightmare now. I love Taub (and Peter Jacobsen) to death, but the character is seriously depressed right now and Foreman and Thirteen are completely and utterly boring and wrapped up in each other, which means that even more than usual, I'm down to just watching House be House. Except now House will probably be depressed, too. Oy.

Wilson is a film buff. Kutner probably knew Wilson would understand. Taub probably wouldn't have liked the kinds of stuff Kutner wrote and not cared. Kutner wouldn't have had the nerve to show 13 because she'd show Foreman, and Foreman would tell House, and House would tease him.

Uh. Just a niggling point: didn't Foreman say Kutner was 28 in the episode? I thought that seemed a little young.

That said--this website seems--I don't know. I'm having trouble wrapping my head around it. Not from a Kutner-is-dead-and-this-is-creepy viewpoint, but rather a meta-ish way.

28 seems way too young.

The website is weird, because they introduce so many non-canon elements in it. Hm.

Except it's from FOX, which means that TPTB approved it, which makes that website canon. Maybe. That's exactly what I'm wrestling with.

The obituary contradicts the timeline in the episode as well. If Kutner killed himself on April 2 (Thursday) and the funeral/ceremony was on April 6, then House's comment about Wilson playing mahjong on Tuesdays doesn't make any sense. (I assume he wasn't being sarcastic about the day of the week).

That being said, it totally makes more sense for Kutner to have been 33. Does that mean that Cuddy is really 43? (Because that makes more sense to me as well). I've given up on ages/years making any sense on the show. House might be able to do the math, but the writers can't...

After he read Kutner's stuff, for a few weeks, Wilson entertained the thought of some Star Trek fic of his own, then stopped thinking about it unless it was a particularly long shower. Original series, of course.

....Okay, we now need two things: a) someone to write the stories Kutner supposedly did; b) someone to write about Wilson reading the stories/fic, and then telling House about it, and then House maybe laughing at them the next day (though he thought parts were cool), and Kutner going :| but not making a big deal out of his public mockery.

I can't believe that the first multimedia tie-in the series makes is for Kutner's death...! I feel the need to save the site for future reference.

Seriously?? I have to find that website now, I'd love to know what the other characters said.
If Wilson said he "pictured the characters from the old series" when he read Kutner's stories, I bet they were about Star Trek. We know Kutner was enough of a Trekkie to dress up as a Kligon at the conventions.
Oh my God, now I'm picturing Kutner writing Kirk/Spock slash. FANDOM HAS PERVERTED MY MIND.
