deelaundry: (Sherlock)

Just had my first time trying a livestream over the internet, and the experience was pretty good. Couple of laggy points, but that was expected, so overall satisfaction: high.

(Except the player had a pause button, which caused a blow-up each of the three times I forgot I wasn't watching a DVD and tried to pause. Oops.)

It was so fun to have a new episode of Sherlock! It was exactly what I wanted it to be. Anyone expecting an actual puzzle to be worked out will be disappointed, but those who want to roll around in fun will enjoy.

The only thing I didn't like was that the direction was cheesy and over-the-top during a few of Sherlock's "thinking" scenes. Could've toned that down. Otherwise, all grins over here.

Glad to hear it's good, I'm eagerly looking forward to seeing it - the 19th I think.
ETA John Watson's blog has already been updated :) I'm hoping Anderson is theimprobableone.

I just watched it because some beautiful person uploaded it to YouTube and miraculously it hasn't been taken down yet. I enjoyed it very much, though I do agree about the cheesiness. I also found myself rolling my eyes during the big dramatic we're-going-to-die scene, as I simply cannot believe that Sherlock Holmes doesn't know how to defuse a bomb - even one without an off switch - and found it cruel of Sherlock to torture John like that. It also seems bizarre that Sherlock would tell his parents the truth and not John.
But really, what it comes down to is it's Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman and I can watch them all day :)
One thing I didn't understand, why did everyone react the way they did to Molly's fiance? What's the joke there?

Oh, that makes sense! The actor doesn't look much like him but he was dressed the same.
I enjoy a laugh but hope they aren't ALL goofy. I'm looking forward to meeting Harry.

My feed froze three times, but each time I was able to reload pretty quickly, so it was a good experience. That was the same site I used to watch the Olympics Opening Ceremonies when they were in London. :D

Agree completely about the direction being cheesy in some scenes. On the other hand, a few scenes made me laugh out loud for real, so. *g*

Squee! So happy to read about someone on my f-list who watched! :D I couldn't get the livestream to work but managed to watch the episode after it aired. I do agree that it was fun, and after reading your post and pondering, I do think it makes sense that there wasn't as much of a puzzle in this episode. I think perhaps the writers intended it to be a fun welcome back sort of thing.

I'm looking forward to having the DVDs and watching this one again. I like a bit of silliness. :)

I LOVED the new episode. Just LOVED it. I know about all the downsides and the tube-lines that are wrong and this and that, but OMG OMG!! Can't wait until Sunday! It's good to be excited about a TV show again.

Also, happy 2014, dear Dee!
