Meme taken from several folks, including [livejournal.com profile] nightdog_barks. Slightly modified by me.

Post a list of the top five favorite fics you’ve written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn’t about the BEST things you’ve written, but what you LOVE most.

Keeper (Agnates in Elysium), R

This is fanfic with a twist, in that it's primarily about two original characters, but characters that would never have been created without the House fandom. House and Wilson's son Jack meets someone special, someone who understands better than anyone else ever could. This story gave me so much joy to write, every part of it. (Grateful appreciation to [livejournal.com profile] simple__man, [livejournal.com profile] little_himself, [livejournal.com profile] anamatics, and [livejournal.com profile] thedeadparrot for letting me borrow characters that they created.)

Around the World and Back Again (Grace Jones’ Polar Opposite Remix), NC-17, remix of Singapore by [livejournal.com profile] thedeadparrot

Written for the [livejournal.com profile] remix_redux challenge, this fic is [livejournal.com profile] thedeadparrot's story "Singapore," retold through House's eyes rather than Wilson's. I felt triumphant when I finished this. It's probably the best depiction of House's POV I've ever written; it helped me discover new insights to his character; it has some unique and fun turns of phrase; and it stays true to the original story while also adding something new. Win! So much love for this that I had to write a DVD commentary.

Proposing, version 1, PG

BANTER! Banter, banter, banter, banter, banter. *dreamy sigh* It's slash, but you can pretend they're kidding if you want.

Reelfoot Rift: Tim (from the epilogue to Aftershocks), R

Dark!House, with a reason for it. Complicated to write, complicated to justify. In the end, I'm not sure most readers believed House would really do this, which means I let my co-authors down, which I'll always regret. I believe he'd do this, though. Given the circumstances, and the opportunity that presents itself, yes, he would go this far.

Just Short of a Bottle of Maker’s Mark and a Shotgun, PG

I only know Robert Sean Leonard as the persona that comes across through his interviews, which could very well be as false as The Colbert Report's "Stephen Colbert." I have to say, however, that grafting that persona onto Wilson was absolutely hilarious to contemplate.

Contender, PG-13

I loved Amber so much. She was good for Wilson and, though he didn't realize it, good for House too. I wish the House-Wilson-Amber triumvirate had lasted at least ten episodes more. Amber doesn't get much screen time in this fic, but she's awesome when she's there. I was proud of re-writing a line about helping Wilson's mom into: “I’ll see what I can do to get dinner moving along,” Amber offers, because yes, that is so much more her. I am also now convinced in canon Wilson's grandmother calls him, "Our Solomon," referring to the King of Israel who had 700 wives and 300 concubines. Heh.

Lost and Found, PG

This was supposed to be a writing exercise simply to get my mojo back, but it turned into something much more than that. The OCs in this aren't really that great, but the way House and Wilson turned out makes me proud.

The System, PG-13, AU real-person fic

An outsider's satire of the "star machine" of Hollywood. It was an idea that intrigued me from first conception, and Hugh Laurie was perfect to play the doubter's role.

untitled House/SGA crossover and its followup, the WIP Five Times James Wilson Was Sick Freshman Year (And a Couple of Times He Wasn’t), R

Because you so know Wilson and Rodney McKay (of Stargate: Atlantis) were boyfriends in college! Of course they were.

Ooh if we're naming our fav fics of yours... my fav on your list is undoubtedly Around the World and Back Again. And other ones that have stayed with me are Respite & Resolution, Wilson the Great, and if I had to name just one it would be Why Dr. House Cancelled Poker Night.

Thanks! It's funny to look back on "Wilson the Great" -- it was considered dark!Wilson at the time. Heh. And "Why..." was my first shot (I think) at outsiders' perspective on House/Wilson.

Are you going to do the meme?

Heh, talking of dark!Wilson, as soon as I hit post I realised I should have mentioned Book Marking and Don't Stand. And I definitely should have mentioned Out of the Blue and In for a Pound.

Me? yes, I'm going to do it in a post along with my end of year musings & word count (263,190 words this year, my word!)
