deelaundry: man reading in an airport with his face hidden by the book (me2)

You've seen the Holiday Wish List meme, right? I've decided to do a throw-it-out-to-the-universe, wildest-dreams, wish-on-a-star list. Which is to say I have no expectation of actually receiving any of these items.

Except maybe the first two. :3

1) Remember those green "House/Wilson ♥" shirts that sold on CafePress a couple years ago? The site isn't selling those any more, but I would LOVE to have one, women's size Large or X-Large, or men's size M, L or XL.

2) A cheerful non-fandom icon for responding to awesome non-fandom posts

3) An awesome AU House fic that re-tells the major events of canon, with the only difference being that House's best friend Wilson is a lesbian. Not a male lesbian like that weird wimpy dude on The L Word. A woman who's always been a lesbian and has been out for all of her adult life.

4) RSL to confirm his wedding, with wedding photos

5) TV Guide HL/RSL photoshoot outtake photos

6) While on the photo theme, photos/video from RSL's audition for "To Wong Foo"

7) Joe Flanigan and David Hewlett to guest-star on House. I've got three different story ideas if the producers need any help.

8) Stephen Fry to buy the story rights to MFS and make it into a movie

9) US TV producer to buy the story rights to the fashion-company romantic comedy/drama half-hour show I had the idea for, and hire me to work with a writing staff to develop coherent five-episode, one-season, and five-season arcs for the show, and then produce a pilot that gets picked up by either a cable channel or network.

10) To get together the energy, nerve, and necessary information to submit an original short story somewhere

The Rules of This Meme

Step One:
Make an LJ post. It can be public or friends only, whatever you’re most comfortable with. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes, and these wishes can be anything - from simple and fandom-related (a fan fiction written about your favorite pairing), to medium (a DVD you want), to really extravagant (a brand new laptop or car). Just make sure these are wishes for things you really, truly want.

If you’re wishing for things that must be mailed to you, like a DVD, make sure you include some sort of contact information in your post. This can be your mailing address or your email address, it doesn’t matter which. Just make sure Santa (or one of his elves) can somehow get in touch with you. :)

Also make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ. The main reason for the holiday wish lists is to spread the joy of giving.

Step Two:
Skim through your friends list and see who has posted their own wish lists. Then - and this is the most important part - if you find a wish you can grant, and it’s in your heart to do so, make sure that person’s wish come true. Sometimes a person’s trash is another person’s treasure. If you have a leather jacket you don’t want or a gift certificate you’re never going to use, give it to someone who wants it.

Step Three:
Post this wish list any time after November 1st. Then repost it two weeks before Christmas.

Remember: You don’t need to spend money on these wishes to make them come true. Only spend money if you want to. The point isn’t to put people out, or to throw yourself into further in financial debt. The point of this is to provide everyone a chance to be someone’s secret Santa, to show someone what the holiday season is all about. Gifts can be made anonymously or not. It’s all up to you.

- There are no rules (except… the ones provided), no guarantees, or any strings attached. All you’re asked to do is wish, and to try - if you can - to make someone’s holiday a special one.

What did the shirts look like?

They were a bright green color (if I remember correctly, like the "Web" chartreuse in this Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chartreuse_(color))) and they said House/Wilson and had a big heart. There were matching ones for House/Cameron (pink, I think) and House/Cuddy (yellow, I think).

Anything like this? (http://www.alekwasframed.com/green_tea/shirtexample.jpg) I personally would pick a different color...

...of course what I'm SUBTLY HINTING AT is that if no one happens to have a copy of that shirt you want, I would be more than willing and very happy to design and buy you a similar one. I would just need to know what color and where you want the words and heart. (Can also do the cheezy "IImage" motif if that's to your liking.) ;)

You are very awesome. A different color would be fine. The heart on the CafePress shirt (if I remember correctly) was just the outline (not filled in), behind the House/Wilson and it was a teeny bit twisted, kind of like the shape of this: http://www.jewellerynow.co.uk/res/img/items/E0163a.jpg

(Yes, I Googled "twisted heart" and wow, weird things out there.)

I rather like this one. (http://www.alekwasframed.com/green_tea/shirtexample2.jpg) Might be something fun to wear around the house and annoy the hell out of the bf. ;)

OR THIS ONE MIGHT BE GOOD FOR ME. (http://www.alekwasframed.com/green_tea/shirtexample3.jpg) Another heart example. (http://www.alekwasframed.com/green_tea/shirtexample4.jpg) Oh, why beat around the bush? (http://www.alekwasframed.com/green_tea/shirtexample5.jpg)

Okay I'll stop now. :P Obviously there are other fonts too, I just like that one. <3

No, I was thinking more the (1) non fandom icons (2) the info on publishing (3) the AU fic about House adn Wilson and (4) the info on buying the rights to your story.

Okay, so the pictures I wanted to use did not work as well for icons as I'd hoped, but this detail of a painting I did (from life -- my Punta Gorda Mystery Flowers) may fit the bill. I made two and I don't know how to post them except to comment using them, so please to forgive my spammage.

Mare, I am horribly, horribly late in telling you thank you, for which I apologize. These are GORGEOUS icons, all four of them, and I am proudly putting them into my LJ. You have such a great talent, and a generous spirit on top of that too.

*hugs*

Oh, you are so welcome! I'm not totally thrilled with the mushroom icons, myself; much as I love the photos, not everything can be iconized well.

I do think the Mystery Flowers make a great icon, though, and I'm glad you agree. :-)

This was the image I originally had in mind. Well, one of the images; the other didn't work at all, sadly.

One more to come after this. So far.

And here is Happy Mushroom #2 -- a close up! Hee!

By the way, just so you know, I won't be in the slightest bit offended if you don't care for these. Take whichever ones -- if any -- suit your fancy, but on no account fret that I'll be hurt if you don't want them. Because I so won't. I'm just having fun.

[livejournal.com profile] obsessiveicons and [livejournal.com profile] fooish_icons both run strongly towards non-fandom graphics, and a lot of their work can be used to express joy and cheerfulness. Like this one!

I like that AU idea. I really like it. But I've got enough to think about I doubt I can help except confirm it's really cool.

shit, I can't even find a t shirt that's got a good picture of House on it. I checked the Fox website and a bunch of others and I only found one that has a very bad pic of him (he's so bloody gorgeous and that's the best they could do?!)

I can try for a cheerful non-fandom-icon, I even have a good (well I think it's good, anyway) idea already. Would you trust me with your e-mailaddress? Then I can mail it to you once it's done (it can take a while, but it will happen before Christmas). You can reach me at hibernia at hibernia dot nl

OMG, I think I would be willing to do... unspeakable things in order to get ahold of #6. Damn you, internets, why can't you deliver this time, of all times?

And #3 would be amazingly awesome, but I've always wanted an awesome AU House fic that re-tells the major events of canon, with the only difference being that House's best friend Wilson is imaginary. It'd probably be much sadder, but I don't care. Still, #3 itself would be perfectly fine. :)

And regarding #1 and [livejournal.com profile] jane_hidell, IIRC the font was more script-y and light, as well as smaller, and the heart was pretty close to the heart behind the text in "Another heart example", just smaller like the text would be. But yours are still pretty cool. :)

While it's not real, only a manip, I can offer you a "pic" of RSL as a cheerleader...

Thank you for the picture; it's gorgeous. I'm not normally into girls, but I do believe I would tap that.

PS. Wow! Interesting psychological moment. My seven-year old just walked over. I showed him the picture, and asked, "Do you know who this is?"

"A Tampa Bay cheerleder?"

"That's right."

"A cheerleader who's a boy?!?"

"Um. Why do you say that?"

"Because he has a boy face."

It could be that my son was recoginizing RSL (I do have a number of Wilson pics around), but maybe he really saw the face as a "boy face." Interesting. : )
