Wishing-on-a-star List
Nov. 29th, 2008 07:17 pmYou've seen the Holiday Wish List meme, right? I've decided to do a throw-it-out-to-the-universe, wildest-dreams, wish-on-a-star list. Which is to say I have no expectation of actually receiving any of these items.
Except maybe the first two. :3
1) Remember those green "House/Wilson ♥" shirts that sold on CafePress a couple years ago? The site isn't selling those any more, but I would LOVE to have one, women's size Large or X-Large, or men's size M, L or XL.
2) A cheerful non-fandom icon for responding to awesome non-fandom posts
3) An awesome AU House fic that re-tells the major events of canon, with the only difference being that House's best friend Wilson is a lesbian. Not a male lesbian like that weird wimpy dude on The L Word. A woman who's always been a lesbian and has been out for all of her adult life.
4) RSL to confirm his wedding, with wedding photos
5) TV Guide HL/RSL photoshoot outtake photos
6) While on the photo theme, photos/video from RSL's audition for "To Wong Foo"
7) Joe Flanigan and David Hewlett to guest-star on House. I've got three different story ideas if the producers need any help.
8) Stephen Fry to buy the story rights to MFS and make it into a movie
9) US TV producer to buy the story rights to the fashion-company romantic comedy/drama half-hour show I had the idea for, and hire me to work with a writing staff to develop coherent five-episode, one-season, and five-season arcs for the show, and then produce a pilot that gets picked up by either a cable channel or network.
10) To get together the energy, nerve, and necessary information to submit an original short story somewhere
The Rules of This Meme
Step One:
Make an LJ post. It can be public or friends only, whatever you’re most comfortable with. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes, and these wishes can be anything - from simple and fandom-related (a fan fiction written about your favorite pairing), to medium (a DVD you want), to really extravagant (a brand new laptop or car). Just make sure these are wishes for things you really, truly want.
If you’re wishing for things that must be mailed to you, like a DVD, make sure you include some sort of contact information in your post. This can be your mailing address or your email address, it doesn’t matter which. Just make sure Santa (or one of his elves) can somehow get in touch with you. :)
Also make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ. The main reason for the holiday wish lists is to spread the joy of giving.
Step Two:
Skim through your friends list and see who has posted their own wish lists. Then - and this is the most important part - if you find a wish you can grant, and it’s in your heart to do so, make sure that person’s wish come true. Sometimes a person’s trash is another person’s treasure. If you have a leather jacket you don’t want or a gift certificate you’re never going to use, give it to someone who wants it.
Step Three:
Post this wish list any time after November 1st. Then repost it two weeks before Christmas.
Remember: You don’t need to spend money on these wishes to make them come true. Only spend money if you want to. The point isn’t to put people out, or to throw yourself into further in financial debt. The point of this is to provide everyone a chance to be someone’s secret Santa, to show someone what the holiday season is all about. Gifts can be made anonymously or not. It’s all up to you.
- There are no rules (except… the ones provided), no guarantees, or any strings attached. All you’re asked to do is wish, and to try - if you can - to make someone’s holiday a special one.

Date: 2008-11-30 12:55 am (UTC)...of course what I'm SUBTLY HINTING AT is that if no one happens to have a copy of that shirt you want, I would be more than willing and very happy to design and buy you a similar one. I would just need to know what color and where you want the words and heart. (Can also do the cheezy "I

Date: 2008-11-30 04:53 am (UTC)By the way, just so you know, I won't be in the slightest bit offended if you don't care for these. Take whichever ones -- if any -- suit your fancy, but on no account fret that I'll be hurt if you don't want them. Because I so won't. I'm just having fun.

Date: 2008-12-02 07:09 am (UTC)And #3 would be amazingly awesome, but I've always wanted an awesome AU House fic that re-tells the major events of canon, with the only difference being that House's best friend Wilson is imaginary. It'd probably be much sadder, but I don't care. Still, #3 itself would be perfectly fine. :)
And regarding #1 and
While it's not real, only a manip, I can offer you a "pic" of RSL as a cheerleader...

Date: 2008-12-16 11:27 pm (UTC)PS. Wow! Interesting psychological moment. My seven-year old just walked over. I showed him the picture, and asked, "Do you know who this is?"
"A Tampa Bay cheerleder?"
"That's right."
"A cheerleader who's a boy?!?"
"Um. Why do you say that?"
"Because he has a boy face."
It could be that my son was recoginizing RSL (I do have a number of Wilson pics around), but maybe he really saw the face as a "boy face." Interesting. : )
