The Washington Post's TV blurb said that there will definitely be FLASHBACKS tonight.

"'House' has shades of 'Lost' in an emotional episode, with a focus on father issues and the use of flashbacks."

Please let them be House flashbacks, not POTW flashbacks!

In sillier spoiler news, I heard "Dancing Queen" on the radio this evening and it made me laugh.

As in we'll possibly get to see House as a child? Wow! How did they keep that under wraps this long?

(Can you imagine pitching that job to R. Lee Emry? "First you'll play his abusive father and then you'll be dead for the rest of the episode! Doesn't that sound like a great gig?" Oh, yeah.)

No specifics on the flashbacks, but childhood House is what I'm hoping for! Or House and Wilson in their younger days -- but then, as Sauty said below, "de-aging" actors always looks a bit silly.

Hmm, IMDB doesn't have a listing for young Greg House. Maybe flashback to something Greg witnessed?

Eeee!

I was imagining outtakes in which he leaps out of the casket and scares the crap out of Hugh. It's just the kind of thing he would do too. The Gunny in a casket is just as scary.

I hope we see a flashback of House and Wilson when they first met. *crosses fingers*

And I hope the flashbacks are well done. I hate it when they try to hard to make the actors look younger.

Sorry about the bronchitis.

And about that FALSE spoiler from Washington Post. Boo hiss! There was no "use of flashbacks"! People telling stories from long ago is not "use of flashbacks"!

*grumpy*

... with a focus on father issues ...

Okay, wouldn't it be the coolest thing if they did flashbacks of both House's dad and Wilson's dad?

Hee. It won't happen, but a girl can dream.

Heh heh heh; this evening I got a crazy insane idea of the secret from 40 years ago... you know, not long before Wilson was born... speculation is that maybe House's dad had an affair...

NAAAAAHHHHH!

It would be kind of funny to turn into the SPN fandom overnight, though.

It took The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert to rescue ABBA from all the disgusting associations with a really horrible summer camp.

I was waiting for House to mention Wilson's brother in his tirade about losing people, but no luck.

"When Doves Cry" by Prince is associated with a really horrible summer camp for me! The association has finally faded somewhat but it still makes me feel oogy.

Wilson's LLB is on the island of lost plot points.

I thought the ending tonight was rather pat. "You're fun, so I'll come back." What? So House acts is OK with Wilson because House is fun?

Just thinking about that summer camp, and why I was there, is enough to get me genuinely angry. But at least I can listen to ABBA now without wanting to punch someone or cry.

They've passed the time they can use the LLB again, which really sucks, because there was so much there to work with.

I still want Wilson to not be around, exactly, but still present - not moving out of House's life, just the workplace, because otherwise there's just the bowing to the status quo and I would like to pretend I can expect more from regular broadcast television.

I thought it was because House made Wilson face some hard truths about himself the way Wilson makes House do.

Wilson snapped and threw the bottle when House kept pressing him about his feelings and trying to get him to admit that he was using Amber's death as an excuse to push House away because he was terrified of losing him. I don't think he ever really blamed House, or not for very long.

So it made sense to me. House made Wilson face it, and Wilson realized that he'd been cutting off his nose to spite his face.

there were no flashbacks and we didn't get to see any Hughbutt in the shot scene either, otherwise I really liked this ep.
