The userpic on this post is supposed to be a picture of Sims House and Wilson playing with their baby (courtesy of daisylily) but now when I look at it I see the very awesome gals from Absolutely Fabulous.

Can anybody see House & Wilson? If so, would you right-click on it, select Properties, copy the URL and paste it into a comment below? Thanks.

That is WEIRD.

I'm doing pretty good--between classes right now, and about to eat lunch, and the CoAuthor just sent me (and I bounced back) the very-nearly-finalized version of our manuscript submission. I have very high hopes for this manuscript, as we've really worked hard on it and I think it's in far better shape than it used to be--I would wager it's very nearly publishable! I hope we haven't given the peer reviewers too much to destroy.

Some people can; some can't. It's happened to several other people I know on LJ but I haven't seen any explanation.

I've had that happen to me. If it's the same thing, the URL actually hasn't changed, it's just that LJ is confused. Here's how I fixed mine (at least temporarily).

Open LJ like you're going to make a new post.
Put in the "image post" code.

But replace the [] with <>.

Post, for your eyes only. Unless you want everyone to see it. Hee.

This seems to reset the LJ userpic directory, at least temporarily. I had to do it for about a week whenever I wanted to use the icon that had gotten scrambled.

It's a very odd glitch, and I only managed to fix mine on my own by accident. I was going to make a WTF?-post about it and discovered that by posting the image source code it made it reset.

I've seen it affect at least two other people. Very, very weird.

This is the icon that got scrambled, by the way. I was seeing some silly Pikachu icon instead. Hee.

I see Eddy & Patsy, and I wish this would happen to me* because I'm sorry but I think it's one of the funniest glitches I've ever seen. Seeing people's "new" icons with the original descriptions next to them has been making me lol way too hard. XP

It is funny! Especially in my case because the poses are kind of similar between the two, with the exception of the baby. I agree with chocolate_frapp below that there needs to be a House/AbFab crossover.

I see H/W with the baby! Maybe it got better on its own? I think it's a case of this: "Yes, sometimes LJ is switching icons, and the one that appears isn't the one that you uploaded/normally use/etc. No, it's not someone breaking into your account, your userpics aren't deleted, they aren't permanently shuffled, and you haven't lost anything. It's just a glitch in the third-party network that stores and serves LJ's userpics, and it'll go away eventually. Reloading or clearing your browser cache will sometimes help, but if it doesn't, just ignore it until it gets better."
