I feel like there've been a lot of posts, comments, and fics lately about how Wilson is not a very good friend to House. In the spirit of positivity, let's turn this around and list all the things House has done to be a good friend to Wilson.

I've got:
- House let Wilson stay with him after the Julie break-up
- House didn't turn Wilson in for sleeping with a patient

What else? The S4 season finale is fresh in all our minds, but things that happened in canon or were referenced in canon before then would be great.

(PS. Hi, I'm back.)

Cameron: Was it an easy choice?
Wilson: Of course not but its right.
Cameron: Then why wasn't it easy?

Because as House put it so well in 'Need To Know', simple and easy are two different things. I like Cameron but dammit, I could have smacked her in that scene.
People bring up 'Merry Little Christmas' as an example of Wilson being a terrible friend. Should Wilson have left House on the floor when he found him ODed? NO. But why was Wilson the one who found him at all? Because Wilson was the only one who checked on him! His own mother didn't call him on Christmas Eve. Cuddy and the ducklings knew about his state of mind and Tritter's deadline and Cuddy at least knew he'd gotten ahold of painkillers, I imagine the ducklings must have realized it too by then. But only one person checked on him, and it wasn't Cameron.

Lmao. Cameron is so... painfully naive sometimes. For someone who's gone through some pretty bad times, it's amazing she doesn't realise that the "right" choices aren't necessarily easy ones. In fact, making the right choice can be fucking HARD.

But then again, I think Cameron's just in denial about life itself. AND NOW I AM GOING TO STARE AT CUDDY'S BUTT.

If the right choice was always easy, the world would be a much better place, wouldn't it? People are lazy, lazy, lazy (me included) so we'd all be making the right choices every time! LOLOL

I even question whether leaving House on the floor was the wrong thing to do at all. The producers certainly didn't seem to think so, with the editing so that the immediate next scene was House going to Tritter to take the deal. The strong implication of that editing cut was that Wilson not cleaning up House's mess was the direct cause of House wising up and trying to take the right next step.

And you bring up the other important aspect of that scene -- even after being forcefully rejected by House earlier that evening, Wilson still called and then went and checked on him.

(I've always wondered if the director intended for Cameron to be so smarmy in that scene with Wilson. Because she sounded like a total ass there, passing judgment on Wilson about something she has no direct knowledge of. I wonder if we as viewers were supposed to question Wilson's motives... or if we were supposed to dismiss questioning of Wilson's motives!)

I think Cameron was supposed to be the exposition fairy here, pointint out what the writers wanted us to see; that is, that we the viewers were supposed to accept what Cameron said about Wilson's motives not being completely pure.

Didn't work!

LOLOL I don't think Wilson was Mr. Angel there, but I do think he was motivated by trying to help/stop House and not for any "personal gain."
