House as a friend

I feel like there've been a lot of posts, comments, and fics lately about how Wilson is not a very good friend to House. In the spirit of positivity, let's turn this around and list all the things House has done to be a good friend to Wilson.

I've got:
- House let Wilson stay with him after the Julie break-up
- House didn't turn Wilson in for sleeping with a patient

What else? The S4 season finale is fresh in all our minds, but things that happened in canon or were referenced in canon before then would be great.

And, gahh, sorry for filling your inbox. But Son of a Coma Guy was to me, an excellent episode of friendship. Just the secrets House had (re: why he became a doctor) to the way he shared them in front of Wilson without too much embarrassment, to his protecting Wilson and Wilson protecting him.

Then the curiosity about Wilson and the sandwich...but nothing will beat them both sitting outside the hotel room and hearing that bang - that gave me the shivers, and to share that sort of thing with your best friend? I know they're doctors, but that was pretty messed up, yet neither of them seemed to think too much of it.

Of course then it all turned to shit and we have to start the friendship debate all over again once the implausible plot device has left the building...

"Maybe I don't want to push this 'til it breaks" was a great statement, too. Kind of wishy-washy for most people, but for House it was a declaration of lurrrve, friendly or otherwise.

Two other things from Son of a Coma Guy:

- "Have you ever loved anyone else?" and House's face, like "Dude, he is sitting right there; how the hell do you expect me to talk about it?"
- It pointed out quite clearly how closely House and Wilson sit next to each other in the car. Look at Gabe and House in the car during SoaCG, and then go back at look at Wilson and House in the car after Wilson picks up House from jail in "Que Sera Sera." Feet of difference!
