Another Ficiversary

Two years have gone by in a flash. Seriously.

Hugs and love to daisylily, who continues to be my beta soulmate and an all-around awesome person. Thanks also to my co-conspirators in the black_cigarette collective and to other Early Readers on my f-list who always provide valuable concrit and suggestions.

Fical [sic] Year in Review

I wrote 55 pieces from 7/5/07 to 7/4/08 for a total of 139,569 words.

Three titles counted for over 40% of those words:
- "In for a Pound," my Big Bang fic, 23,900
- "Aftershocks," the novel I co-wrote with nightdog_barks, blackmare_9, and perspi, 21,200 (I only counted my chapters toward my word count)
- "Keeper (Agnates in Elysium)" parts 7-10, 14,600 (altogether Keeper was 29,600)

One fic other than Aftershocks was co-written ("Hi, Anna" with roga).

Content/Genre

The vast majority of pieces were House/Wilson or House-Wilson friendship, but I also wrote other slash, het, and gen.

Amber Volakis was an addition to canon that I really enjoyed. That showed in my writing: 11 fics had Amber or mentions of Amber.

I also continued to have fun with Stargate Atlantis, with four crossover fics (including the Big Bang) and my first that was SGA only.

Pairings included House/Foreman, House/McKay, House/Sheppard, and Wilson with Amber, McKay, Sheppard, Julie, OCs, and Chase, Cameron, and Foreman.

Genres covered included domestic, fluff, angst, hurt/comfort, crack, AU, humor, violence, friendship, first-time, ep-tag, PWP. (Same as last year!)

Fic Length and Rating

28 drabbles/ficlets under 1000 words; 21 fics 1000-5000 words; and 6 fics over 5000 words.

Universes

The MFS or Jack-verse continued on, with the completion of Keeper and then six more fics (including back-story on the surrogate and my firs, and second, NC-17 fics in that 'verse). So far, I've written 78,000 words in the 'verse, and there's still more to tell.

And what more can I say about the Aftershocks universe? It was an epic tale, and I felt grateful to the others for letting me play.

POV

Wilson and House were still my #1 and #2 for POV, but I also wrote from the POV of: Jack, Taub, Amber, McKay, Sheppard, Chase, Foreman, Cuddy, Grace, Julie, Wilson Wife #1, the "Do Her or You're Gay" clinic patient, Cuddy's father, RSL, and OCs both M and F, as well as true omniscient and dialogue-only.

Other than Aftershocks, none of the Housefics in the 07/08 year were as popular as last year. My first SGA fic "Telling" garnered a number of comments, but compared to SGA fics it was a modest success.
