I've been posting a lot lately, and you're probably well right sick of me, and I don't blame you. I'm kind of sick of me, too.
But that's not the point of this post. The point is: I'm doing the House recs on
crack_van in July (which is 3 days away -- how did that happen?). Any suggestions on how to write a rec? Mine always go something like this: "This is good. You should read it." Not detailed or robust enough for
crack_van, I'm thinking.
PS. They really need reccers for House, starting in August. Sign up here.

Date: 2008-06-29 12:31 am (UTC)People in the LJ branch of the House fandom know your writing. They'll know that if they like your stuff they're willing to try anything you rec. So whatever info you supply will be a bonus.
You should probably create a standard form for the basics.
Fandom:
Main Characters and/or Pairing:
Length:
Author:
Rating:
Genre: Angst, Humor, Character Death, Crack
I'm sure I forgot some. But then all you need is a few sentences on why you liked it and, possibly, an excerpt.

And now I'm thirsty for a g&t.

Re: talking too much
Heh...at least you're keeping in touch with your friends, unlike those whom one has to drag everything out of because they don't communicate until you do so.
Re: rec's
I agree with everyone else. Oh, and the form idea is good because it will help create a consistency I'm sure we will all learn to count on. hee
