OH MY GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE IT

Festivids just opened and I was given THREE utterly AMAZING Dead Poets Society vids. THREE, and they are all different, and they are all AMAZING. You must go watch, and marvel, and comment!!! Now!!!

First, see Smokin' in the Boys Room, which is a very happy DPS vid. I hadn't thought it possible, but THERE IT IS. Awesome. Huge smile guaranteed.

Next, watch Measuring Cups, and be moved by the challenge of finding yourself in a world that's already slotted you.

And end with I Was Meant for the Stage, because oh, Neil. Oh, Neil. (Heed the content notes.)

You should be able to click on the little vid icons in the dotted-line box and they'll show up. If they're not working, try the LJ mirror posts?

Can you not see the post, or just not see the vid?

You can also get in, I think, by going to this site: http://www.festivids.net/festivids/4/festivids-2012 and scrolling down to the Dead Poets Society section.

Also, in case this is your trouble, it looks like all three are password-protected, but the passwords are posted just above the embeds.

YAY! One year maybe I will get more than one vid. :) But I've been lucky that for three years running, the vids I have received have been excellent.

Aw. It's a hazard of asking for such obscure sources, for one thing!

Aw, those were great (I had no problems viewing them). It's been years since I've seen DPS, so it was cool to see the three different takes. And the third one was ... :(

Very weird coincidence: I just got home from a dance performance that featured Andrew Bird's "Measuring Cups." :o

I am the luckiest participant in Festivids EVER. :D

I had never heard "Measuring Cups" before and it's awesome. How did they interpret it in dance? It seems kind of cerebral for dance.

It was modern dance -- those people like to be (or appear to be) cerebral. Actually, the piece was to a medley of Andrew Bird stuff, and had a lot of angsty movement (people flinging themselves onto each other, etc). Since I love Andrew Bird and angst, it worked for me. :)
