Things I Forgot to Say Before

- I was away Sunday PM - Thursday PM, which is why my on-line presence was sporadic. Did you miss me? Probably not.

- cryptictac made an OUTSTANDING video on House and Wilson's friendship, using Bare Naked Ladies' song Call and Answer. If you haven't seen it, go now, and don't forget to comment on her LJ after watching.

- jane_hidell drew Wilson wearing bright rainbow-colored swim trunks and a unicorn shirt. So wonderful! Give her lots of comments too!

- If you like SGA, perspi wrote an amazing Ronon/team fic called Missing Breath that needs more love because it is love. The team has to cope with a death (minor character); Ronon helps them through.

- savemoony wrote me something awesome, based on an AU none of y'all like, so I'm keeping it for myself. Nyah!

- Special shout-outs to phinnia, bironic, nightdog_barks, and blackmare_9 just because I like them.

- I can't remember to whom I mentioned the "Chase is biological son to both House and Wilson" fic, but it's here. TYVM to simmysim for hosting the original fest that produced that miracle and for the most excellent FIGHT TO THE DEATH that we had yesterday. (Simmy won, even without Cameron's dragons.)

- Making this long post without lj-cut I feel like hugelaurie, but with less pink. And not as cool as she is, obv.

- The Remix archive opens tomorrow at remixredux08. Try to guess which one I wrote. I'll give you a hint: it's not in the Harry Potter or Bleach fandoms. Helpful, yes? For extra credit, guess which one I betaed.

I think that even beats the "through the power of Jesus Wilson turns into a green-eyed woman" fic I've heard about.

The Chase fic is not as elaborate in its murdering of the characters, but... it's not good. Absolutely no explanation of how Wilson could've been pregnant. No gypsy curse, no scientific breakthrough, nothing. And the characters all take the news so quickly in stride, and, and, and. The epilogue ("5 1/2 years later") with Chase getting a baby sister is the best.

Don't tempt me to write some sort of sci-fi pastiche involving cloning as a viable reproductive strategy. Please. I'd get bogged down in the ethics of it all and forget the plot.

asynca had plans for a medically-based mpreg but I don't think she finished. genagirl did a freaky House-as-Dr.-Frankenstein version that was very interesting.

I had thoughts at one point about a fic in which Wilson gets pregnant, and it turns out he's been intersexed his whole life but in denial about it. His extreme mental block about the issue is why he missed seeing that "supermodel"'s testicles when he was doing the body scans in the one episode. But I ran out of enthusiasm for researching it, so I wrote "pregnant Wilson as metaphor" instead.

I think I saw the Frankenstein fic, although I don't remember being really compelled by it. The Wilson in my head is too much of a man for me to want to make him pregnant. But yes, as a metaphor it's a very potent one.

Off-site business meeting far away. Had to change planes in Miami on the way there and Chicago on the way back, which made for a lot of traveling. But it was good.

I can see feeling "social vs. not" on the internet, definitely. When I first posted ages ago, I never thought I'd post anything but fic. Then I gradually started feeling more like "talking" and here I am today. It ebbs and flows, though, and some days I 100% want to be a lurker.
