He did! Arms around each other, everything. I had to rewind to confirm it.
David Hewlitt was good, I thought. He played Rodney just right given how socially awkward Rodney is; the last scene was a masterpiece of denial.
But Teyla seemed off to me; I wasn't feeling her at all. And something was strange about Sheppard and Keller too. The group of them didn't click the way they usually do, to me.
She asked him to get a beer after they were trapped in the hole, but I had thought it was more a friend thing, a "Hey, I'll show you how to act around women" thing. *shrug*
McKay/C. Keller would be deadly but hot. Receding hairlines FTW.
A few months ago, I begged for some Keller/Keller fic, but no one provided. : (
I haven't seen Kindred II yet, but I watched the trailer, because clearly, I love being confused.
There's a missing scene on Joe Malozzi's blog, here (http://josephmallozzi.wordpress.com/2008/02/11/february-11-2008-script-work-the-doctor-drops-in-and-that-deleted-conversation/) from Trio, where Keller says effectively that things didn't work out with Ronon. Classic case of cutting a 'character moment' and losing the plot.
Still. Rodney/Keller? So not seeing that - I think that one's going to be a hard sell. Maybe it's an end of the world, kind of thing? *is hopeful*
Rodney/Keller is just... I don't see it. They don't have similar personalities, and he's so scornful of the medical thing, and... There did seem to be a shot of aged Rodney, too (unless that was maybe a relative of his?) so maybe it's alternate universe?
I love seeing McKay kiss, so I was happy with the Keller moment -- and you know there's no way we can predict what context it might be in, or the aged!McKay either, so looks like we'll just have to wait till Friday. (Or, like, Monday in my case, since I won't be home that weekend.)
Overall, this two-parter was very blah, and disappointing for the penultimate ep of a season. They set up so many threads this season and they're not all coming together. I need to look up who wrote and directed it; I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same people who did the season premiere/second ep, which was also very slow and had poor dialogue.
This is the first season I've watched start-to-finish as it aired, but I'm pretty sure they tend to film all or most of a season before it airs, and it usually starts Sep-Oct like it did this year.
Musta missed that. Must go back and rewatch on Tivo, because Rodney kissing ANYone is awesome.
Actually, I remember during this episode wondering if they were going to make a Rodney/Keller thing, because this episode reeked of Rodney/Carson, and something in my brain said 'Keller's the Carson stand in, Rodney's totally gonna hook up with her!'
I know that logic doesn't really make sense, but then again, neither do I. ^_^
See, I really think that people (once they see the episode and the surrounding events) might be a little more welcoming to what transpires. Circumstances will probably dictate that alternative pairings aren't possible.
As I said to Djinn, Rodney and Keller's personalities don't seem to mesh, to me. I was happy about Ronon/Keller, and was looking forward to more of that. But shows have surprised me in the past so I'm willing to keep an open mind.
Circumstances will probably dictate that alternative pairings aren't possible. -- Sorry, but I'm not understanding that. Are McKay and Keller the last two people left? That'd be different!
I don't like spoiling people, but...many people aren't there anymore and Rodney's lost pretty much everyone he cares about (John, Teyla, Carson, Elizabeth, probably Ronon, most assuredly Madison and Jeannie, etc) It's gonna be a really good episode and will surprise alot of people in how it all ties together.

I thought the acting was okay in this episode -- I found myself wondering how difficult it must be for Rodney to lose Carson a second time.

When I first read your post I became really confused. I immediately pictured Rodney McKay and Chris Keller making out. Now the image won't go away.
