2021: Looking Forward

I won't fully exhale until noon Eastern on January 20, but nonetheless, am glad to have seen the backside of 2020. There were some good things that happened, though, so I'll follow the example of
kass and list some gratitudes.
1. Accomplished my 2020 Goal #1 and got a good job! Two weeks in, and I am really enjoying myself. Blessing!
2. Made headway on my 2020 Goal #2 and read 10 books plus am in the middle of reading 5 more. That's out of the 20 that was my goal.
3. Naps. Owing to being out of work, I had plenty of time for naps and they were restful every time! When I was a teen/young adult, naps would leave me feeling groggy afterward, but not in 2020. Thank you, Goddess of Napping.
4. Writing once again! I didn't write the "fanfic fusion of a show that went off the air in 2012 with a book that came out in 2008" that I thought I would, but am very happy with the nine pieces finished (plus a few more started). This is the first year since 2009 that I posted more than 25,000 words.
5. Chats online with fannish friends, whether about fannish stuff or other things. Met a new "generation" of House fans and enjoyed getting to know them. Went to CON.TXT and CONFab online; at CON.TXT modded the panels How Is This So Hot?, Found Family, and my fave, Autistic Characters and Fans. Went to some online fan brunches in the beginning of the year. Near the end of the year, found a Sherlock fan who's willing to listen to my "never gonna finish" ideas so
bironic doesn't have to :)
6. Speaking of
bironic, she continues to be awesome and I love her.
The 2021 "would like to do" items that were KO'd by the pandemic will be moved to 2021.
Goals for 2021
- Come up with a career goal, so there's something to look forward to / move toward professionally.
- Establish the habit of reading books in addition to fanfic. Aim for one per month.
- Be more prompt in replying to all forms of communication that call for a reply.
Things I will do in 2021:
- Ignore 45 as much as humanly possible, and enjoy not thinking about him.
Things I would like to do in 2021:
- Keep writing. Maybe find another challenge/bingo/fest after BTB is over.
- Make a few vids.
- Have some chats online with fannish friends, whether about fannish stuff or other things. Attend at least one online con.
- Go to at least one in-person fan brunch. Fingers crossed!
- See a play with RSL in it. This is contingent on RSL being in a play within reasonable travel distance to my home, so... up to you, big guy! The Kennedy Center is a great venue, I have heard.
- Visit
bironic for longer than one meal.
- Make, or convince Bironic to make, my "favorite autistic characters and celebs" vid.
- Make my LJ Favorites into a real rec list, with current links.
