[Poll #1578888]

PS. HGTV is a cable channel available in the US. "HG" stands for "Home and Garden"; the shows are about homes, design, home repair, gardening, etc. I am addicted to "House Hunters" - where we follow a person, couple, or family as they go shopping for a home - and just started watching "Design Star." Check out their website here: www.hgtv.com

The white room challenge is one of my faves! You know, I liked Tom's "shopped at an Asian market" room. It was fine, I didn't like Nina's that much.

Where's the box for "I've watched it occasionally, but grew tired of them focusing so much on the tools who made good TV and bad designs?"

Same goes for "next Food TV star," but with the obvious substitution of cooking related words where design element words are used here.

I would like the radio button for either "No, haven't heard of it," or "No, and I think I'm afraid to ask why."

Poll options are a definite art! I should've had more in there...

(Remind me to tell you the story of when Boss's Boss said, "There's no science to it [implementation planning]," when there really is.)

I am not going to tell you why now, but possibly later. : )

David from Color Splash is so awesome! I ♥ him.

(This icon is Adam Lambert, not David, but it somehow maybe fits. :D)

Crap, I knew I forgot something in the options : (

Season Five started this week, and the person they tossed off had awful design sense so that was good. They also gave the most "drama queen" person the Best of the Week award, so it seems like from what you've said that will be bad...

I would've liked Tom's room very much if he'd had fewer knick-knacks in it -- and if he hadn't said that stupid sentence about imagining Julie being "Jasmine from Aladdin waiting for her American boyfriend." That statement was creepy, and much more about his weird fantasies than about who Julie was.

Nina's room I was kind of eh on. I liked what she did with the paint, but I don't think paper parasols have anything to do with Fiji at all. (Admittedly I could be wrong on that.)

Have you watched it before? It's not bad brainless summer entertainment, but it also won't produce the next Vern Yip or Candace Olson or whoever the people are on TV whose designs you can generally admire.

Nope, this is my first time. I'm not much of a design person actually, but I like David and he was promo-ing it during "Holmes on Homes" (which is awesome) so I decided to try it.

David's OK. (The exception that proves the rule?) They usually end up with someone who's not a tool getting the show, though the toolish stay around far too long. The fact that the winner from season two was the hairdresser for one of the producers is still a bit sketchy, though.
