So glad you liked it! Thanks for the long comment -- I agree with your analysis. This shows foibles for each of them: Wilson not being the "pure" giver he'd like to be, as well as being so very conventional (That gift he thought was so unique? Two clicks on FTD.com and you'd get pretty much the same thing.); Cuddy's favoring (subconscious, here) of House over Wilson; House's willingness to benefit from generosity and then scorn the one who gave it to him. (And his unbalanced notion of what's equal in tit-for-tat, as shown in the first scene with Wilson.)
Yet, they're all lovable, too, in their own way. :D
