- It was my understanding that a guy's best friend is the one who plans the bachelor party. So how does House have so much experience? Or was it just the one party for Wilson, and House is claiming expertise from that? ... Come to think of it, I can buy that.

- How old was Karamel the stripper nine years ago? 15?

- Amber is still amazingly awesome, and how much do I love that Anne Dudek hasn't lost all the baby weight yet? A whole lot, that's how much. I wonder if Annie and Robert gave their babies playdates on the set. Cuuuuute!

- A stripper wore strawberry-flavored body butter (which I assume would be artificially flavored) nine years ago and let people do body shots, and House plans to kill Chase by just putting her in the same room? Weak plan, dude, requiring a lot of assumptions to fall into line. Weak.

- However, foreshadowing. When Amber licked the lollipop and ate the taffy, she was all happy. When she ate the piece of fruit, she made a disgusted face and looked around for somewhere to throw it away. That's a clever bit to look back on.

- I love the way they wrote pantsless Wilson; it was wonderful. Also, did you notice the way in which Wilson told House he wasn't coming to the bachelor party? Wilson looked almost -- dare I say it? -- apologetic. It was a sweet moment for dude friendship.

I LOVED PANTLESS WILSON!

I IM'd my sister with "WILSON ISN'T WEARING PANTS! I hope you're watching House." It was an amazing moment :)

...well. Wilson got married 3 times after all, we know House wasn't around for the first one, but we can assume that House planned the last two at least (right?). And, btw, that party was awesome. House is a genius, after all ;)

I thought the same about Karamel. heh.

Maybe the plan was weak because House wasn't really planning to kill Chase (a room full of doctors, someone was bound to have epi around. Screw that. There are ambulances anyway), but just to make him sick at his bachelor party so he would've been even happier to behave like a "good boy" for Cameron? (I know. It seems a bit twisted, but...)
Or, and this is what worries me the most - it's another way to show that House is losing his mind. Even his evil plans are not that evil anymore. *sighs*

ooh, I didn't notice that foreshadowing. I was probably squeeing too much over the House/Amber interaction that was so good - hearing House's thoughts aloud was awesome, imo.

and finally, much much love for pantless Wilson! Especially trying-to-give-good-advice-on-marriage-while-being-divorced-3-times-AND-pantless!Wilson. *loves*

Thank you that I'm not the other one who couldn't figure out how Chase had an anaphylactic reaction from artificial flavoring!

Yep, didn't get the Homicidal House connection at all.

But I do think the show made a terrible mistake killing off Amber. I'll take her as House's thoughts any day.

Thank you.

Chase going into anaphylactic shock from body butter, when most of those are flavored artificially, was just medically ridiculous. Usually even when the butter is flavored specifically, it contains none of the actual product. I know this, because I am allergic to bananas and the edible body gel that’s banana flavored contains no banana.

And who wears the same flavored body butter for ten years? Unless that is her "signature" but then her name should be Strawberry - with a K. :)

I think the weakness is indicative of House's mental capacity being diminished by stress, emotion, and insomnia -- and that House didn't really want to kill Chase. It was one of those vague ideas everybody has, and not an actual murderous intent.

Either that or the writers are dumbasses about body butter.

The reveal of pantsless Wilson was amazing! I had been spoiled that he was going to be in his underwear, and I couldn't picture how they would do it.

Oh, they picked the perfect way. Perfect! I bet he was drunk, went into his bedroom to change, to hang up his work slacks (or maybe he'd spilled something on them), and then just kind of forgot to put on jeans or khakis. Such a dork and so sweet.

Cuddy said at the end that Wilson was trying to walk home from his apartment -- what do you want to bet he was heading toward House's place? Awwwww.

Do we know that Karamel was a stripper from Wilson's bachelor party though? I can picture House dragging Wilson out to a strip club at other times in the past nine years (post-Bonnie, pre-Julie?) and having the Karamel experience then. Didn't chipAmber only refer to her as that "one" that House liked?

I'm pretty sure that Amber said "from Wilson's party." (I can re-watch tonight.) Wilson had to have been engaged or married at the time he met/knew Karamel, because she asked about his wife.

I would totally want to go to that party! Fun!

I think you're right, that House wasn't really wanting to kill Chase. And that House is losing his mind. : (

Why were Chase and Cameron asking Wilson for marriage advice? Maybe they weren't -- maybe they were just asking for wedding advice.

House's "you have to be a dog to prove that the wedding means something" didn't make much sense to me.

In that case, couldn't it have been a post-marriage party after he eloped with Julie? If his last bachelor party was pre-Bonnie (because he eloped) nine years ago, Karamel could have been referring to Julie.

Or should could have been 18 or 19 at that party nine years ago and is now in her mid-late 20s.

I think both are ridiculous. The idea that House wants to subconsciously kill Chase is stupid. The idea that he'd forget Chase is allergic to strawberries is also stupid.

But honestly, compared to some of the other plot holes that have been thrown at us this season, this one is rather tame.

That was sweet. Him having the cochlear implant put in was nice, as well -- although talking the mom into agreeing beforehand would have been the more forthright thing to do. But as Wilson said, "Baby steps."

I really hope this season ends, or next season begins, with House accepting that he is more than just his medical aptitude, and that people care about him, not just what he can do. Wilson loves him, Cuddy loves him (although she hasn't sorted out exactly in what way), Chase admires him and thinks he's fun, and Cameron trusts him (she would have KO'd the party if she didn't).

Hee, I hope that also includes Cuddy having to bail him out and being talked into letting him sleep it off at her place. That'd be fun. *g*

Interesting episode, in general - I have to say that I do kind of think that House, on some level at least, really did want to hurt Chase because he gets to do the happy 'normal' life thing. It's not full-fledged serious intent that would've been acted on if he was in his right mind, but some part of him really did want that, IMO.

ext_25649: House sucking a lollipop while staring at Wilson (house_deadpeople)
From: [identity profile] daisylily.livejournal.com
I was thinking that House might have been organising bachelor parties for previous friends (e.g. Crandall).

I noticed that Annie looked different from the last time we saw her (i.e. as you say, she hasn't lost all her baby weight) and it fitted well, to me, with her being in House's head - he was remembering her slightly inaacurately, so to speak.

Perhaps Karamel has a thing about artificial flavours... *cough* I hadn't got to thinking how much had to come together for the anaphylaxis to happen - I must watch the ep again :D

I didn't notice Amber with the fruit - I was busy cheering at the lollipop XD

I loved that House held the party at Wilson's place - the whole Wilson-arriving-home thing was beautifully done. Pantsless Wilson was hilarious - I'd have liked to see him from the front, but I suppose we can't have everything...

I think House wanted to, as well, in that vague way that everybody gets from time to time -- "boy, some schadenfreude would be awesome about now."

It's kind of a parallel to how Chase has copied House's look, without IMO meaning to.

Love that icon. Suuuuure Wilson didn't know the exhibit had changed. Sure he didn't.

The fruit was before the lollipop, I think, and they faded it into the background pretty well.

Wilson arriving home was done SO WELL. He really ought not to have been surprised, but it's perfectly in-character that he was. HEE!

I am bereft that everyone else gets to think how hot Wilson is walking around in his underwear, and all I could think of was how my dad tends to come home from work and take off his pants.

I actually looked up the actress who played Karamel - she's in her late 20s, so if she started when she was 18 or 19, it wasn't bad, timeline-wise.

I hearted drunk, bear-huggy Foreman. And not only his glee, but Thirteen's over the body shot.

A lot did have to come together for that anaphylaxis. I assume Karamel's special thing is the body shots, but still - Chase wouldn't have done one if Foreman hadn't nudged him. (Also, it amuses me that when we look back, we see Chase eating berry-free fruit salad a couple of times during the season.)

Pic!

Image

I liked Foreman & Thirteen's combined glee over the body shot, and their mutual enthusiasm for the stripper-selection task. There's a problem with media in general over-sexualizing bisexual people (women in particular), but to me, Thirteen seemed really into it for herself, not as a stupid "I kissed a girl" show for her boyfriend. To me, that made me enjoy it. Because I sure was perving over Wilson's tongue and blowjob cheeks; why shouldn't she perv over barely dressed women who are paid for that purpose?

Did you like the scenes before the party?

Oh, I forgot something I had noticed while watching: The patient looked a lot like Matt Damon. Not as good-looking, but similar features and shape to the face.

This. Trying to kill Chase by hiring a stripper who *fifteen* years ago used a certain body lotion-- a stripper who might not be working anymore and probably changes lotions MORE FREQUENTLY THAN ONCE EVERY FIFTEEN YEARS-- is so, so not a good murder plan. Which means either: a) lazy writing; b) House didn't actually mean to kill Chase. It was, at most, an idle thought.
