Dream about Festivids Reveal Day

I dreamed last night about Festivids Reveal Day. It actually started at the kickoff of Festivids, when a number of us were in one large room starting the process of thinking up our vids. Except for at least me, the assignment was a video game instead of a fanvid. The room itself reminded me of a kindergarten classroom but sized for adults: thick, cheery rug; cozy oval tables seating three to five people each; simple, encouraging signs tacked up on the walls.

I was intensely jealous of someone else in the room, who had a great idea about a mentor helping a kid plan out activities to organize their life and achieve their goal, which was a better relationship with their dad (I was also jealous of this fictional kid because they had so much to look forward to), while I had no idea what I was going to do.

Then the dream jumped to Festivids Reveal Day, as they do, and I finally had the Festivids Reveal book in my hands! A printed and bound book, organized by vidder, that had a review of the vid or vids (or video games) that person created. These were looong reviews, with some background on the vidder and some discussion of their process before the main discussion on the vid(eo game). I was admiring different people's write-ups but not finding mine, and then got upset that I had been left out, but no! There I was! The review written about me started with a recap of how slow a start I'd gotten that first day (by someone else who'd been in the room -- the "teacher"? -- and had heard me talk about it) but that my video game was well worth it.

It was a remix/update of Defender, but your ship moved a little bit slower, not so dart-y, and the graphics were better (OBVIOUSLY), and the enemies you shot were ovals with words in them, for some reason.

The review was quite positive and I was quite happy, and then I woke up, the end.
