I want to send a bunch of balloons to a friend who's about an hour outside of London. FTD.com doesn't seem to deliver there (and they only have flowers for the UK, anyway). Any suggestions for where I could order, given that I have a US credit card?

Ordered the bouquet! I checked out Interflora, then went to yell.com for a local place... and found a nice Interflora florist. : ) Thanks to everyone for the help.

look on yell.com which is the online yellow pages for the uk, and see if there's a florist or balloon delivery near her. MUCH cheaper than an international place, and I'm sure your US card will be no problem. I never had trouble using my us cards there or my uk cards here.

I found a site called 1st in Flowers (www.1stinflowers.com) which delivers worldwide, if that's any help.

Interflora! (http://www.interflora.co.uk/)

If your card is visa or American express you shouldn't have a problem.

I was about to suggest Interflora UK too. But good thing someone else did since I haven't gotten the hang of those fancy hyperlinky things. x

Awesome - thanks! I just placed the order and AmEx seemed to work, no problem. We'll see what the exchange rate is when it hits my bill, heh.

Oh, I'm so glad you're sending her something like that! I've been thinking lots about her and hoping that everything goes smoothly.

And I'm glad it worked. I always find if you just go direct to a local place and don't pay the international fee you get way better stuff and it costs half as much.

*hugs*

Thank you! It took me a while to get the hyperlink thing to, but it's not too hard. Type in

[a href="http://www.interflora.co.uk/"]Interflora[/a]

but use < & > instead of [ & ]

Late to the party, glad you found a way! And for daisylily's operation too, that is so thoughtful :)

The only thing I've had foreign-issued-Visa card problems with is stuff you're not supposed to be able to get from abroad, for licensing reasons. Like House episodes from iTunes and Amazon Unbox. Which leaves me shouting at the computer screen I AM TRYING TO GIVE YOU MONEY AND YOU'RE DRIVING ME ELSEWHERE...

She should be out of surgery soon, I think. I'm hoping for a good-news email some time today. : )
