New piece of Wilson trivia

So, I never really stop thinking about Wilson. And I ran across some interesting info that relates to him a bit.

Wilson has in his office a pillow with the Caduceus on it. This is canon, at least for some of the episodes. However, Caduceus (wings, two snakes on a rod) is not the actual symbol for medicine; that is the Rod of Asclepius (one snake on a rod, no wings).

Caduceus is the symbol for the god Hermes: "As spokesman for the gods, he not only brought peace on earth (occasionally even the peace of death), but his silver-tongued eloquence could always make the worse appear the better cause."

Another bit of trivia linking Wilson to the gods:

Wilson's license plate is New Jersey EIR 55D.

My friend Google tells me that in Norse mythology, "Eir («help»,«grace»,«mercy»,«protection»,«calm») is the goddess associated with healing. Eir is the healer of the other gods and goddesses."

Well, how cool is that? Someone on staff knew their mythology and was having a bit of fun with Wilson's reputation for having a silver tongue. :)

Oh, that is an amazing level of thought put into the tiniest of details. Thanks for bringing this here.

The “healer of other gods” part truly resonates with his role in House’s life, doesn’t it?

That's really neat! I'm no student of American history but I've always been amused that your country already had a famous House & Wilson duo: https://mises.org/wire/colonel-house-and-woodrow-wilson-paving-way-war
