There's a bill in the Maine Legislature that legalize gay marriage. (http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/01/14/maine.same.sex.marriage/index.html) My Mum is a state rep; she signed on and is going to vote for it. I told her that if she didn't, I would never speak to her again. :)

Civil union/domestic union laws are pretty good too. But making the existing civil system of marriage open to same-sex couples is just so much more efficient. Warms my little process-nerd type heart.
