Special Offer!

A couple of fans had the idea to raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, one of Robert Sean Leonard's favorite charities, as a tribute for his birthday, February 28.

[livejournal.com profile] rsl_bday_drive has details and instructions on how to donate, on the profile/user info page. As [livejournal.com profile] jane_hidell said, "I do believe it's something about which RSL might actually think "Huh, neat" before he goes out to buy more Vienna Fingers."

To support this effort, I'm offering custom fics to anyone who donates, at 50 words a dollar. $2 gets you a 100-word drabble; $5 gets you a 250-word ficlet; $100 gets you a 5,000-word custom fic of your very own. (Just found out minimum donation is $5)

If you've read any of my stuff, you know I'll write just about anything: slash, het, gen, any character, almost any subject*. This is your chance to get a fic written to your specifications, in the House, SGA, or Damon/Affleck fandoms.

Please give to support a great charity, and to honor a great dork. : )

ETA: My gal [livejournal.com profile] phinnia and [livejournal.com profile] alex51324 are going to make the same basic offer. Only one fic request per donation, please!

*If you're under 18, I will not write you NC-17.

Squee!
(You know, that's a damn nice incentive? I may steal the idea. You mind?)

Well, shit! Now I have to donate. Image

[identity profile] alex51324.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
What a good idea. I don't have any money, though. :( Maybe I could steal the idea too, though, if you don't mind. Maybe we'd need a sign-up sheet, though, so people can't donate once and claim prizes from you, phinnia, and me. One donation = one fic.

OMG!!!! *says Good Bye to savings*
I won´t be able to pay very much cause U$1 dollar is equal R$2. Plus credit card taxes. :( But of course I will pay!! \o/
My only question is: should I pay to you or directly to their site? :/

[identity profile] silsbee329.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Great idea! Let us know how soon you need this. (*reads instructions*... nevermind... *g*) *thinks up prompt for you*

That's really, really nifty of you.

[identity profile] deelaundry.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
No, I don't mind at all. More the merrier! Alex51324 wants to do it too. Alex suggested a sign-up sheet so people don't claim from more than one author -- maybe we can get [livejournal.com profile] poorfrances to do a sign-up sheet on the comm?

[identity profile] deelaundry.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Don't make that grumpy face at me, girly! Get your butt over there and pony up the cash.

ILU

[identity profile] deelaundry.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
Sure, you can steal the idea. The more the merrier. Maybe we can get [livejournal.com profile] poorfrances to do a sign-up sheet on the comm? Or you, phinnia, and I could coordinate lists before we write anything.

[identity profile] deelaundry.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
Definitely donate directly on their site! The link is here: http://support.broadwaycares.org/site/TR?team_id=2200&fr_id=1060&pg=team

Whatever you can donate is appreciated. For you, we can do the word count by R$. Or, who knows, maybe your prompt will be so fun that I'll write more than expected. : )

[identity profile] alsaurusrex.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
I've just donated $10. =) What an awesome idea.

[identity profile] alex51324.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Fawsome. Now that I think of it, the honor system would probably work too. :) But poorfrancis might want to have a list of people who are doing fic-bartering.

[identity profile] deelaundry.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! Let me know what that prompt might be.

[identity profile] deelaundry.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks. Just a little something to sweeten the pot. (And procrastinate from my Big Bang fic, which I really need to be working on.)

[identity profile] deelaundry.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, thanks! Let me know your prompt, pairing, specifications!

[identity profile] alsaurusrex.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
House/Wilson, please. Slash, not friendship or gen. Hmm... not TOO much angst, and a happy ending overall (or at least not a depressing ending). No established relationship please and umm... Actually that's pretty much it. The rest is up to you.
Thank yoooooou!!

[identity profile] mer-duff.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
I'd be into joining into that - I used to be on the Theatre Cares committee here, so it's a cause near and dear without the lovely RSL factor.

[identity profile] poorfrances.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
OMG YOU ARE SO AWESOME.

To answer a question dee had:

If you "join the team" and create a profile at BC/EFA, your profile shows publicly as a "member of the team" next to the thermometer. If you "make a gift" however, you remain anonymous on the public site. Us three coordinators DO receive the name and email (NO CREDIT CARD INFORMATION) of everyone who contributes, including in the "Make a Gift" way.

So short answer: yes, someone can donate using "Make a Gift," not have their name publicly on the drive website, and we would be happy to confirm that we received a donation from that e-mail address.

She says to check each author's LJ for their criteria, so if you want to make a post on your LJ that'd be good.

Do I need to do something more to show that I really did the donation? ^^"
If you need, my email is portilhago/gmail. Let me know if I forgot something, k?

[identity profile] deelaundry.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
Nope, nothing more. I will email it to you for approval before posting. But it may be a few weeks! If it's going in the MFS canon, it has to be good, right?
