As far as being a songfic goes, I think it was successful, even with the lyrics (although, as per usual with songfics, my eyes skimmed right over them). The Chase/Wilson angle surprised me halfway through, and I had to readjust my thinking to suit--when I read it a second time, knowing what was coming, it worked better. (Did I miss that pairing in the header? Huh.) I'm not sure that House would be that open about his feelings with Chase, but I love the idea that that's how he feels. The most powerful part was the way Wilson swallowed back his tears: great description from Chase's POV (the POV was excellent throughout). Poor Foreman and especially Cameron were sold a little short, but goshdarnit, this isn't their story, so I guess that's not too big a deal. Nicely done.
