It's more that their dynamic doesn't seem at all different from what it was when Jack was a toddler. That's frankly unrealistic. They are psychologically not the same people anymore - too much has happened to them to have them just step back twenty years as though nothing ever separated them. Also, old age treats people differently, and dear old cripple House isn't likely to have aged so well as to be able to perform tango moves on Wilson, swing him and dandle him on his knee and whatnot.
