PS. HGTV is a cable channel available in the US. "HG" stands for "Home and Garden"; the shows are about homes, design, home repair, gardening, etc. I am addicted to "House Hunters" - where we follow a person, couple, or family as they go shopping for a home - and just started watching "Design Star." Check out their website here: www.hgtv.com

Crap, I knew I forgot something in the options : (

Season Five started this week, and the person they tossed off had awful design sense so that was good. They also gave the most "drama queen" person the Best of the Week award, so it seems like from what you've said that will be bad...

Have you watched it before? It's not bad brainless summer entertainment, but it also won't produce the next Vern Yip or Candace Olson or whoever the people are on TV whose designs you can generally admire.

Nope, this is my first time. I'm not much of a design person actually, but I like David and he was promo-ing it during "Holmes on Homes" (which is awesome) so I decided to try it.

David's OK. (The exception that proves the rule?) They usually end up with someone who's not a tool getting the show, though the toolish stay around far too long. The fact that the winner from season two was the hairdresser for one of the producers is still a bit sketchy, though.
