Yeah, they don't like paint-by-numbers so much, but I do! If they can be independent and appropriate near me, then I can do paint-by-numbers and leave it at that. Later we're taking them swimming, too.
My kid would probably like paint-by-numbers. One day I asked him to help me get ready for a trip by sorting laundry. He said, "This is OK, but I thought you'd have a harder task for me to do."
