I am not looking forward to the next four years. A demagogue in the Oval and a Republican-controlled Congress in the next two years means no immediate path to get him out.

I'm usually a pretty optimistic person, but I don't see how this can end well, either in domestic policy, and (as a European) in international politics. I don't think a German chancellor has ever put a kind of admonition into a speech congratulating a newly elected US-president, but Merkel bascially said she offered Trump collaboration, on a base of common values like democracy, freedom, and rights for people no matter of their background, skin colour, religion, gender or sexual orientation. If the leader of the party that still opposes marriage equality in Germany feels the need to point that out... oh dear... honestly, I'm a bit scared for all of us.

I am taking heart that half the country voted for Hillary (she actually seems to have won the popular vote), and maybe that half can keep ourselves going and growing until the next election.

Yes, that's the best thing about this right now, that Clinton seems to have had a (small) majority. I hope those who are standing against the hate and bigotry will be able to gather their strength and get the USA through this.

I am loling about how sad Trump looks, now that he's learned what the job entails. I don't think he'll enjoy it much.

There have been some hopeful signs in the past few days, in terms of people standing up for what's right and putting Trump on notice that he will have to listen to we the people.

There was also one incident that I have to give Trump props for (among thousands where he was awful, but still). After his meeting with President Obama, Trump said he wants to keep in law the requirement that health insurance has to cover pre-existing conditions. Someone said to Trump, "What about your campaign promise to repeal Obamacare completely?"

Trump replied, "Repeal and REPLACE. There will be a replacement law and it should include some good ideas from Obamacare." Hell yeah.

I'm hoping the bastard gets impeached the first week. But that means Mike Pence and either way we are soooo fucked.

Mike Pence is a huge bastard. No way I want him as President.

Trump has been WAY subdued since the election. Interesting.
